How much does the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross cost?

Prices have softened 4.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 858 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 6.67/10. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise the Corolla Cross for its surprising power, excellent ride comfort, and spacious interior. The overview also frames it as a practical small SUV that blends familiar Corolla identity with more crossover-oriented utility, which helps explain why it appeals to shoppers who want something easy to live with.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert review calls out fairly pedestrian performance and uncomfortable seats. Even so, the Corolla Cross fits well if you want a compact SUV with familiar controls, useful space, and a straightforward ownership experience.

Only 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than flooded with bargains.

Is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free, with many shoppers appreciating that it delivers the basics without drama. The expert review also emphasizes Toyota’s standard warranty coverage and free scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, which helps reduce early ownership costs.

The powertrain is described as solid and quiet at speed, and the vehicle’s overall simplicity should help keep long-term ownership predictable. For used buyers, the main risk is less about a known reliability flaw and more about finding a well-kept example with seats, tires, and service history in good shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because even a clean-looking listing can hide prior damage or incomplete repairs. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on seat comfort, interior condition, and how the transmission behaves during a test drive. It’s also worth confirming that the safety and tech features work as expected, since those are major selling points for this model.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base L models get 17-inch steel wheels and cloth seats, while LE models add 17-inch alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a larger touchscreen, a rear USB port, wireless charging, and pushbutton start. XLE models add 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, SofTex upholstery, rear automatic braking, and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.
• Powertrain: Every model uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 169 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. Front-wheel drive is standard, and AWD is available.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. LE adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE adds rear automatic braking and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The base model gets a 7-inch touchscreen, while LE and XLE get an 8-inch screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, WiFi, Amazon Alexa compatibility, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Wireless charging and a rear USB port arrive on LE and XLE.
• Fuel efficiency: Toyota expects 33 mpg combined with FWD and 30 mpg combined with AWD. The AWD system also adds capability without requiring wheel slip to engage.

Which 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross is offered in 3 trim levels: L, LE, XLE.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and can live with the most basic cabin. You still get the core Corolla Cross formula, standard driver-assist tech, and the same engine, but you give up the nicer wheels, larger touchscreen, and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the most useful upgrades without pushing the price as high as the XLE. You get blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a larger touchscreen, wireless charging, a rear USB port, pushbutton start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
• XLE: Choose this if you want the most comfort and convenience features in the lineup. It adds SofTex upholstery, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, rear automatic braking, and front and rear park assist with automatic braking, making it the most fully equipped version.

The safety package starts with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 on every trim, while LE and XLE add extra driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross?

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 858 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,171, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross's resale value?

The current average of $23,629 sits slightly below last year's $24,748.

That price movement suggests the Corolla Cross has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. A softer market now can also make it easier for you to find a cleaner example without paying peak pricing.

For resale, the key is to buy a trim and condition level that will still appeal to the broadest pool of shoppers later. Well-kept examples with strong equipment and a clean history should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, traffic-sign recognition, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. LE models add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, while XLE models add rear automatic braking and front and rear park assist with automatic braking.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights easy-to-use technology and standard advanced safety features as key strengths for this year.

The bottom line: If you want the Corolla Cross formula at a lower used price, the 2022 is a sensible buy, especially if you find a clean example with the features you want. If you’re shopping strictly on value, keep an eye out for the best-priced LE or a well-kept L; if you want the most equipment, the XLE is the better target.
