Is the 2022 Tesla Model S a good car?

Generally — the 4.29/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the performance and technology, and they also highlight the speed and the extensive Supercharging network. The futuristic design and advanced features are recurring positives as well.

For you, that means this model makes the most sense if you want a long-range electric sedan with a software-driven ownership experience and a strong emphasis on acceleration and tech. The tradeoff is that some shoppers may find the rear seat space and yoke steering wheel less practical than traditional alternatives.

With 25.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Tesla Model S reliable?

The user feedback points to reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience as part of the appeal, alongside the car’s long-term software support and strong charging ecosystem. That combination matters because it suggests the car can remain appealing over time rather than feeling dated quickly.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core concept and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been well cared for and remains in strong condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Tesla Model S?

You should prioritize a history report first, then inspect the car closely for signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or any issues that could affect long-term ownership. Pay special attention to overall condition, since the model’s technology-heavy setup makes it especially important that everything works as intended. If possible, focus on examples with clean records and a well-documented maintenance history.

What is the 2022 Tesla Model S's resale value?

The current average of $46,706 sits slightly above last year's $46,284.

That kind of pricing stability suggests the market has been fairly steady, which can help support resale confidence if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, a stable market is useful because it reduces the risk of a sharp drop in value over a short ownership period. It also means condition and mileage will likely matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Tesla Model S or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want the post-refresh Model S experience with a stable price trend, solid owner satisfaction, and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 remains the better all-around pick when you want a balanced mix of value, technology, and market availability.
