Used 2022 Subaru WRX for Sale nearCleveland, OH

How much does the 2022 Subaru WRX cost?

Prices have softened 5.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,118 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru WRX earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its thrilling performance, sporty features, and strong value, especially if you want all-wheel-drive capability. The review summary also points to driving sophistication and versatility for both spirited driving and daily commuting.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert notes poor fuel economy and says advanced safety features are not standard. That makes the WRX a better fit if you want a sporty sedan with year-round usefulness rather than a comfort-first commuter.

The overview frames it as a performance car with all-weather practicality, so it suits you best if you want driving engagement without giving up everyday versatility. Good and great deals account for 37.3% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: it delivers strong performance, all-wheel-drive confidence, and a setup many owners enjoy for both daily use and spirited driving. That kind of repeat satisfaction usually matters more than flashy features when you’re trying to judge long-term ownership confidence.

The expert notes also support that impression by emphasizing the WRX’s all-weather practicality and its improved suspension and platform tuning. Subaru also says the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about how hard the car was driven and maintained before you buy it.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific check. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if you’re considering a car with modifications, signs of hard use, or inconsistent maintenance records. Focus on overall condition, since owner feedback mentions minor issues such as paint damage and some slow performance in certain situations.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base cars are the most stripped-down, while Premium-trim and higher models add the more impressive 11.6-inch touchscreen and other visual and convenience upgrades. The base trim also uses a different dual 7-inch display setup, so you should decide whether the simpler cabin presentation is acceptable.
• Powertrain: The WRX uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer four-cylinder with 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You can choose a six-speed manual or a CVT, and the manual keeps continuous all-wheel drive split 50/50 front to rear.
• Safety package: CVT-equipped models get Subaru’s EyeSight suite, which includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic steering assist, and an electronic brake booster. Manual cars do not get EyeSight, and blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert is standard only on Limited and GT trims.
• Infotainment: Premium-trim and higher models get an 11.6-inch tablet-style touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but the integration is imperfect, and the base trim uses two stacked 7-inch displays instead.
• Fuel efficiency: Subaru says the WRX should return 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Subaru WRX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Subaru WRX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the WRX formula at the lowest price, but you give up the more impressive large-screen infotainment setup and the extra safety content that comes with higher trims. It makes sense if you care most about the drivetrain and standard WRX character.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the more appealing 11.6-inch touchscreen and is the trim Subaru expects many buyers to choose. It also lines up well with the WRX’s sporty mission without pushing you into the top-end price range.
• Limited: This is the trim to target if you want the strongest safety content, since it adds blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. It’s the smarter pick if you want more peace of mind without going all the way to the GT.
• GT: This is the most specialized trim, with Recaro seats, electronically controlled dampers, and Drive Mode Select. It’s CVT-only, so it suits you best if you want the most feature-rich WRX and are comfortable giving up the manual.

Safety features are not standard across the lineup, so pay close attention to transmission and trim when you shop.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru WRX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,945, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $25,945 sits slightly below last year's $27,452.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy in at a more favorable point. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means you should be realistic about near-term depreciation rather than expecting a quick rebound.

The WRX’s appeal still supports demand because it offers a rare mix of performance and all-weather practicality. That combination can help it hold attention better than many ordinary sedans, especially among shoppers who want a manual-transmission, all-wheel-drive sport sedan.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Subaru WRX safe?

The 2022 Subaru WRX earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

CVT-equipped models come standard with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver assistance systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, automatic steering assist, and an electronic brake booster. Manual WRX models do not get EyeSight, and blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist and rear cross-traffic alert is standard only on the Limited and GT trims.

The WRX also comes with seven airbags, including a driver’s-side knee airbag, and Subaru says the newer platform improves crash energy absorption. The main caveat is that safety content is uneven across the lineup, so the transmission and trim you choose matter a lot.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It sharpens the WRX formula with a stronger powertrain, improved suspension, and updated technology.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,967, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,945 average.
• It emphasizes everyday engagement with standard AWD and a more affordable entry point.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,243, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,945 average.
• It carries the fourth-generation WRX forward with no changes and the same core enthusiast appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of updated hardware, strong owner satisfaction, and a still-reasonable market price, the 2022 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the value path; if you want the newest version of the same formula and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is the straightforward alternative.
