How much does the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek cost?

Prices have softened 5.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,245 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its all-wheel-drive capability, excellent fuel economy, and strong safety features. The 2022 model’s practical small-crossover layout also fits buyers who want everyday usability, more rear-seat room than the model it replaced, and a compact footprint that still feels versatile.

With 36.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of options to shop.

Is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, along with dependable all-wheel-drive performance and a trouble-free ownership experience. It also points to the Crosstrek’s strong safety reputation and the kind of confidence buyers often want from a long-term daily driver.

For used buyers, that combination suggests lower ownership anxiety, but you should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title status, and service records. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, tires, brakes, and interior wear, since condition can vary even within a strong inventory pool.

Because this model is valued for practicality and all-weather confidence, you should also pay close attention to how well the vehicle has been maintained and whether any warning lights, noises, or uneven wear suggest deferred upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,245 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,948, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $22,315 sits slightly below last year's $23,638.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can matter if you plan to sell later. A softer price environment can reduce near-term resale upside, but it can also help keep the Crosstrek accessible to shoppers who value its reputation and utility.

Because demand tends to follow strong owner satisfaction, this model still has support from buyers who want a practical, well-liked small crossover. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,847, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,315 average.
• It adds a Sport trim and an available 2.5-liter engine.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your budget is tighter and you want to spend less upfront, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path.
