Overview

If the Rolls-Royce Phantom is the Everest of modern automotive opulence, the Ghost is its K2. The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost is a more “approachable” alternative to the dramatic Phantom, but it is still one of the most luxurious cars on the road today. The Ghost first arrived in 2010 and, following a 2021 redesign, largely carries over into 2022. Buyers can now select a Black Badge variant with unique visual touches and an increase in performance.
The Ghost is a full-size sedan that is available in standard- and extended-wheelbase configurations. The latter provides more rear legroom, and both offer 18 cubic feet of trunk space. The Ghost is available with a rear bench that provides five-passenger seating, or with second-row captain’s chairs and a four-occupant capacity. Whichever seating configuration is selected, passengers are treated to incredible craftsmanship and top-notch fit-and-finish.
The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost comes exceptionally well equipped. The long list of standard features includes self-opening and self-closing doors, premium leather upholstery, genuine wood interior panels, a massive center touchscreen, a cabin air purification system, more than 220 pounds of acoustic insulation, and an 18-speaker premium stereo system. The Ghost can be had with a starliner option, which features hundreds of LEDs woven into the cabin headliner.
The Ghost Black Badge Edition is a menacing take on the Ghost. As the name suggests, it features black exterior badging, black accents, and black interior trim.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost comes equipped with a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine. In standard form, it makes 563 horsepower. In the Black Badge, this engine produces 592 horsepower. Both engines route power through an 8-speed automatic transmission to all-wheel drive. This powertrain will scoot the 5,500-pound Ghost Black Badge from zero to sixty in a surprisingly athletic 4.2 seconds, and up to a top speed of 155 mph. The Rolls-Royce Ghost returns fuel economy of 12 mpg city, 19 highway, and 14 combined.
Managing that heft around a corner is no easy task, and that’s why the Ghost comes equipped with an adaptive suspension and a road-scanning camera system. The camera can detect potholes and adjust the suspension appropriately.
In addition to self-parking and night-vision assist, the Ghost comes equipped with forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, a 360-degree camera, and a head-up display. The 2022 Rolls-Royce Ghost is backed by an unlimited-mile warranty that lasts four years.
