Is the 2022 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 3500 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, towing capability, spacious interior, and value for money, while also highlighting the useful feature set and the RamBox storage system. Is the 2022 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that many people find dependable in day-to-day use, with repeated praise for its strong performance and capability. At the same time, some reviewers mention mixed feelings about transmission reliability, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the truck has been maintained. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable if you choose carefully and verify the truck’s history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 3500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm accident status, title history, and maintenance patterns before you get too far into the process. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission, since owner feedback includes mixed reliability concerns in that area. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and signs of heavy use, especially if the truck was previously worked hard as a tow rig.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 3500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,438 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $51,237, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $51,237 sits slightly below last year's $55,777.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more favorably now but may also mean future resale gains are more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the truck’s value will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can help support pricing, but the recent softening means you should not expect appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, broad inventory, and high owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 remains the better all-around target when you want a well-liked heavy-duty truck with plenty of listings to choose from.
