Is the 2022 RAM 2500 a good car?

Owners consistently praise its power, comfortable ride, and excellent interior features. Many also value its towing capability and the way it works well for both work and leisure. Is the 2022 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.81/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, with many drivers describing it as dependable and a truck they can count on for towing and everyday use. That kind of response matters in a heavy-duty pickup, where long-term confidence is a big part of the ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a truck that has been worked hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 2500?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus on a thorough inspection of the truck’s condition and maintenance records. Pay close attention to signs of heavy use, especially if the truck was used for towing or work. A clean-looking listing is not enough on its own; you want proof that the truck has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,865 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $42,187, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $42,187 sits slightly below last year's $46,476.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the good news is that strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can help support values when the truck is well maintained and presented cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.81/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.81/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $47,951, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $42,187 average.
• It adds a more off-road-focused Rebel option.

The bottom line:
You should start with the 2022 if you want the better value and a broad pool of listings to compare. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year and a more off-road-oriented setup, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
