Is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne a good car?

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne stands out because it blends Porsche performance with the practicality of a midsize SUV. It also comes across as an evolution of the formula rather than a full redesign, with restyled bodywork, a slightly longer body, and a slight weight reduction.

For you, that means the Cayenne makes the most sense if you value driving feel and luxury more than outright practicality or low running costs. It is also described as sturdy, with a refined interior and strong performance that help it feel special in everyday use.

31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne reliable?

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne is described as having sturdy construction, and that supports its appeal as a premium used SUV. It also carries the kind of refined, well-developed character you’d expect from a model that was presented as an evolution of an already established generation.

At the same time, you should plan for long-term ownership costs carefully, since pricey maintenance can make the total cost of ownership higher than the purchase price suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Porsche Cayenne?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you’re seriously considering, especially if the price looks unusually strong. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can check for wear, maintenance gaps, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard. Focus on overall condition and service history, since those factors matter a lot on a premium SUV with potentially expensive upkeep.

If you find a listing below $57,825, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Porsche Cayenne's resale value?

The current average of $58,012 sits slightly below last year's $65,007.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy with less risk of immediate overpaying. If you plan to resell later, the current softness may also mean your upside is more about buying well than expecting quick appreciation. For a future seller, condition and mileage will matter even more when the market is already leaning lower.

Should I buy a 2022 Porsche Cayenne or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.76% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a strong choice if you want the Cayenne’s performance-first character and you can find a clean example at a sensible price. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2022 still looks attractive when condition and deal quality line up.
