How much does the 2022 Nissan Maxima cost?

There are 498 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2022 Nissan Maxima a good car?

The 2022 Nissan Maxima stands out as a large sedan that still leans into a sporty personality. It uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, and its sleek styling and capable handling help support that image.

It also comes well equipped, with an 8-inch color display with navigation standard, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the mix, and Safety Shield 360 standard across all trim levels. That makes it a strong fit if you want a comfortable, feature-rich sedan with a more distinctive driving character than many mainstream alternatives.

The market reflects that appeal, with 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Nissan Maxima reliable?

The 2022 Nissan Maxima benefits from a broad safety feature set, including Safety Shield 360 standard across all trim levels, and it earned IIHS Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ designations every year it was on sale.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that you should expect a sedan with some age-related wear considerations, so condition and maintenance history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Maxima?

At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch bodywork, alignment, or repair-quality issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since the best buy is usually the cleanest example rather than simply the cheapest one.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Maxima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 498 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,532, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $22,532 sits slightly below last year's $24,837.

That price movement suggests the Maxima has softened enough to help you buy more selectively today. If you plan to sell later, the current market gives you a useful benchmark, but you should still expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether your car stands out as a clean, well-kept example.

Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.28% compared with last year.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,670, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,532 average.
• It offers a more relaxed, premium-feeling cabin.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2022 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and are focused on finding a well-priced, well-kept example. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value path, especially if you find one in strong condition.
