Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it fits a buyer who wants simplicity and value rather than flash. The 2022 Outlander Sport is described as one of the longest-running choices in the subcompact crossover class, with appeal rooted in affordability, standard all-wheel drive, easy parking manners, and solid reliability in later years. It is also a practical pick if you want useful modern equipment on the right version, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7-inch touchscreen audio display, and automatic climate control. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Outlander Sport is described as having a reputation for solid reliability in later years, which supports its appeal as a straightforward used SUV. Its long-running design and limited changes over time also suggest a familiar ownership experience, especially if you value predictability over novelty. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about complexity and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm accident status and look for any signs of inconsistent ownership or repairs. After that, prioritize a careful inspection of the ride quality, interior condition, and overall mechanical feel, since this model is known for a rough ride and cheap interior materials. If possible, focus on how the vehicle drives and whether its condition matches the asking price, especially on higher-mileage examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 547 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,838, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,838 sits slightly below last year's $17,545.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible to used buyers, which can also shape what future sellers should expect. If you buy at the current average, you may have less room for appreciation than in a rising market, so condition and purchase price matter more. A well-kept example should still be easier to move than one with visible wear, especially because shoppers in this segment tend to be value-focused.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a sensible choice if you want the Outlander Sport’s value-first formula, standard all-wheel drive, and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 stands out as a practical buy when you find one in clean condition and priced near or below the current average.
