Is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2022 Outlander Sport’s appeal is rooted in affordability, standard all-wheel drive, and a simple, easy-to-live-with layout. The overview points to a long production run, which has helped work out many of the bugs over time. It also frames the 2022 model as a straightforward crossover with improved reliability and a simple ownership experience. For used buyers, that usually means lower drama than a newer, more complicated vehicle, though you should still expect the usual wear-and-tear risks that come with any used SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any condition issues that could affect long-term value. Because this model is positioned as a value buy, you’ll want to pay close attention to how well the interior, exterior, and mechanical basics have been maintained. A clean, well-kept example is the kind of listing that best matches what this SUV is meant to be.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 551 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,935, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport's resale value?

The current average of $15,935 sits slightly below last year's $17,604.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition so you’re not competing from a weak starting point. A clean history and good maintenance will matter more when the market is already leaning lower.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.48% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want a simple, affordable small SUV with standard all-wheel drive and a proven ownership profile. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022 gives you a solid mix of value, availability, and buyer confidence.
