Overview
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris is a functional passenger van that is a more maneuverable alternative to the full-size Sprinter lineup. It can seat up to eight passengers, making it great for road trips, and can also be used as a comfortable transport vehicle.
The Metris has been sold in international markets since the mid-1990s as the Vito. It was introduced as the Metris for the 2016 model year. In 2021, it received updated infotainment features and safety technology, which carry over to the 2022 model. The Metris is sold in 126-inch or 135-inch wheelbase configurations. The rear rows can be removed, providing a number of passenger/cargo configurations, and the van offers 38 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. With multiple rows removed, the Metris provides a generous 97.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
Standard equipment on the Metris includes USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cross-wind assist, automatic emergency braking, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Metris can be built out with a number of individual options and packages, including power-adjustable front seats, an additional battery, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, power-sliding doors, a multifunction steering wheel, and more. Buyers can also select air suspension, a navigation system, and additional driver assistance features.
The Metris is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It makes 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to the front wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Metris is rated at 5,000 pounds of towing. It has a payload capacity of 2,425 pounds. EPA fuel economy estimates for the Metris are 18 mpg city, 22 highway, and 19 combined.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris a good car?
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris sits in a moderate market position, and 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals. That combination suggests you have some room to shop selectively rather than rushing into the first available van.
For used-car shoppers, that means the Metris can make sense if you value finding a well-priced example and are willing to compare condition carefully across listings. The market signal is mixed enough that you should focus on the specific vehicle’s history, maintenance, and overall wear before deciding.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris?
Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple vans with similar pricing. Focus on signs of heavy commercial use, interior wear, and any inconsistencies in maintenance records so you can separate a strong example from one that only looks good on paper.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and comparison-shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 191 listings available.
- Clean inventory: 90.1% of listings are accident-free.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Metris or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
The bottom line: The 2022 is a reasonable choice if you want to shop a year-specific market with decent deal availability and strong clean-inventory coverage. If you’re more price-sensitive, it makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
