overall

Summary
With 1,128 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,089.00, 35.9% of 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLBs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB 4 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.33 / 10.
88.6% of 2022 GLB models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is distinctive for packaging Mercedes-Benz utility into a minimally sized SUV that was designed for Europe’s narrow city streets and tight parking spaces. Its boxy shape puts practicality ahead of style, and it offers seating for up to seven people, which helps it stand out among small luxury SUVs.
It also aims to deliver the performance, technology, and luxury upgrades expected in a Mercedes while keeping the base price under $40,000. That combination makes it appealing to buyers who want a compact, versatile SUV with premium features without moving into a much larger vehicle. At the same time, the 2022 Mercedes-AMG GLB35 is described as especially fun on a twisting mountain road, but that driving character comes with dynamic compromises in everyday situations.

Reviewed a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB on Feb 26, 2023
This car is amazing and has so much tech that makes the ride super enjoyable. I would give 5 stars but the 2022 model does not have automatic seats due to Covid issues with getting chips in. Overall an amazing car despite that one thing.

| Year-Round High | $29,727.95 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,711 |

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB a good car?
Generally — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB earns 4/5 from users and 7.33/10 from experts. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
It is designed to maximize utility in a minimally sized SUV, with seating for up to seven people and a boxy shape that prioritizes practicality over style. It also aims to deliver the performance, technology, and luxury upgrades you expect in a Mercedes while keeping the base price under $40,000.
That makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury SUV with real passenger flexibility and a premium-feeling cabin. The market also shows 34.9% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB reliable?
Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The GLB’s appeal comes from its practical packaging, approachable starting price, and emphasis on utility, while the expert evaluation also points to a capable daily-driving setup in the GLB250. The performance notes suggest the AMG GLB35 is quick and engaging, but also firmer, louder, and more finicky in everyday use.
The cost-effectiveness commentary also makes clear that this is not a low-cost luxury SUV to own, especially if you load it up with options. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-spec versions can bring more complexity and more compromises than you may want in routine driving.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-spec example with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, option-package content, and whether the vehicle has the safety equipment you want, since some desirable driver-assistance features were not standard on every example.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The GLB250 and AMG GLB35 differ meaningfully in character, with the AMG version adding a more sophisticated AWD system, more aggressive styling cues, and a much more performance-focused setup. The base GLB250 is the better everyday choice if you want the more practical, less demanding version.
- Powertrain: Both versions use a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, but the AMG GLB35 is tuned for 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, with quicker acceleration and a more aggressive dual-clutch transmission.
- Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 12 driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance. Some features, including evasive steering assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic warning, and Active Emergency Stop Assist, were missing on the test vehicle without that package.
- Infotainment: Standard MBUX includes a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the AMG GLB35, plus Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mercedes Me connected services. The Multimedia Package adds navigation with augmented reality, and wireless smartphone charging is available.
- Fuel efficiency: The AMG GLB35 is rated at 22 mpg in combined driving, while the GLB 250 4Matic is rated at 25 mpg.
Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB trim should I buy?
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is offered in 2 trim levels: GLB250 and AMG GLB35.
Here's the short version:
- GLB250: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it is the more sensible daily driver and the better value. It keeps the GLB’s practical packaging, flexible interior, and premium Mercedes feel without the AMG model’s firmer ride, louder road noise, and more demanding personality.
- AMG GLB35: Choose this if you specifically want the quicker, more engaging version and are willing to accept the tradeoffs. It adds the more powerful drivetrain, AMG-tuned hardware, and a much sportier driving experience, but it is less relaxed in everyday use.
For safety, the Driver Assistance Package is the one to prioritize if you want the GLB’s most useful driver-assistance technology.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,158 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 88.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,026.13, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB's resale value?
The current average of $27,019 sits slightly below last year's $29,711.
That price movement suggests the GLB has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. A softer market today can also work in your favor if you plan to keep the vehicle for several years and want to avoid paying peak pricing.
The GLB’s practical layout and premium-brand appeal should help it remain attractive to used shoppers who want a compact luxury SUV with real versatility. Buying below the current average gives you a better chance of preserving value later.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The test vehicle included Active Brake Assist, blind-spot monitoring, Mercedes-Benz emergency call service, rain-sensing wipers, Attention Assist, and Exit Warning Assist. The optional Driver Assistance Package adds 12 driving assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, including adaptive cruise control and lane-centering assistance.
A key caveat is that the test vehicle did not have that package, and it also lacked evasive steering assist, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, rear cross-traffic warning, and Active Emergency Stop Assist. Crash-test ratings for the GLB are unavailable.
Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 88.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 stands out for its compact packaging, seven-passenger flexibility, and premium-feeling technology.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $23,404, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $27,019 average.
- It offers an optional third row and a flexible interior.
The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the stronger all-around package and are comfortable paying more for the current-year market. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value path because it delivers the GLB’s core practicality at a lower price.
