How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 870 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

Yes — 4.67/5 is a strong user rating, and the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class backs that up with a blend of old-school presence and modern luxury-SUV execution. The overview points to a thoroughly updated structure, a plusher interior, and contemporary systems while preserving the boxy shape and serious off-road character that define the nameplate. If you want a high-end SUV that feels distinctive rather than generic, this model year fits that use case well. 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a vehicle built with modern materials, updated systems, and driver-assist features shared with other Mercedes models, which supports confidence in its day-to-day execution. It also keeps the model’s serious four-wheel-drive capability while pairing it with a more refined cabin and contemporary technology. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic appeal and more about the cost of keeping an expensive, complex luxury SUV in top condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a history report first, then focus your inspection on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Because this is a high-end SUV with premium systems and expensive running costs, condition matters as much as mileage. Pay close attention to the cabin, electronics, and overall mechanical presentation so you can separate a well-kept example from one that has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 870 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $159,696, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $159,696 sits slightly below last year's $170,071.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also mean future resale gains are less likely to come from short-term appreciation. For a seller, the good news is that the G-Class still has strong desirability thanks to its distinctive image and luxury positioning. If you maintain it well and keep documentation organized, you should be better positioned when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $136,281, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $159,696 average.
• It keeps the rugged, blocky look with a luxury interior and strong off-road identity.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of condition, inventory, and pricing, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one that has been well maintained.
