Used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class for Sale nearBakersfield, CA

How much does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class cost?

Prices have softened 10.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,844 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model is positioned as an entry point into Mercedes ownership, but it aims to feel more substantial than its size suggests, with S-Class-inspired design and a premium cabin. The strongest expert-rated areas are look and feel and technology, and the car’s stylish design, great ride quality, and impressive technology support that positioning.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the transmission can be irritating, and performance is described as sluggish. Even so, if you want a small luxury sedan that emphasizes upscale styling and a polished driving experience, this one fits that use case well. 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The C-Class is presented as a premium small sedan with standard rear-wheel drive, optional 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a broad set of standard equipment, which supports its appeal for everyday ownership. Its powertrain also includes a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and Mercedes says that setup can contribute extra power in short bursts.

Mercedes also includes a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a four-year, 50,000-mile powertrain warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk. For used buyers, the main long-term concern is making sure the transmission behavior and overall condition match the car’s premium mission before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional equipment. Focus on how the car drives, how smoothly the transmission behaves, and whether the electronics and driver-assistance features work as expected. Condition matters here because the C-Class is meant to feel upscale, and neglected examples can lose that advantage quickly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Premium trim gets standard LED headlights and taillights, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, an 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and ambient lighting. Higher trims add features such as a Burmester 3D surround-sound system, a head-up display, and augmented-reality navigation, so the lower trim leaves some desirable luxury and tech items off the table.
• Powertrain: The C300 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes says the setup can contribute up to 20 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque in short bursts, and the car is available with rear-wheel drive or 4Matic all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional driver aids include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, park assist, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The base setup includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system also uses MBUX with the Zero Layer layout, and higher trims can add a head-up display and augmented-reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The C300 is rated at 29 mpg combined, 25 mpg city, and 35 mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, or 27 mpg combined, 27 mpg city, and 33 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

Which 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class trim should I buy?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Exclusive, and Pinnacle.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the best-value starting point if you want the core C-Class experience without stretching too far. You still get the 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 11.9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, and ambient lighting, so it already feels well equipped.
• Exclusive: This trim is the middle ground if you want a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top. It builds on the standard equipment and is the logical step up if you want more luxury presence and a better feature mix.
• Pinnacle: Choose this if you want the most technology and convenience features. It adds a head-up display and augmented-reality navigation, making it the right pick if you value the most advanced cockpit experience.

Standard safety equipment is strong across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features remain optional rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile deals.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,844 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,617, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $29,617 sits slightly below last year's $33,190.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key question is whether the car’s premium image and strong equipment list can hold demand as the vehicle ages. A well-kept example with desirable features should still attract shoppers who want a luxury badge without paying new-car money.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The 2022 Mercedes C-Class does get an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)—many of them as standard equipment. Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with safe exit assist, a driver-attention monitor, Pre-Safe, and Pre-Safe Sound. Optional features include lane-keep assist, evasive steering assist, a 360-degree camera system, dashcam, park assist, and two levels of Distronic adaptive cruise control.

Crash-test ratings from IIHS and NHTSA were not available at the time of publication, so there isn’t a published crash-test result to lean on here. That means you should pay close attention to the standard safety equipment on the specific car you’re considering, especially if you want the more advanced driver-assistance options.

Should I buy a 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned model moves the C-Class upmarket with S-Class-inspired styling, standard rear-wheel drive, optional 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a strong technology focus.

The bottom line: If you want the newest redesign and the strongest blend of upscale styling, technology, and market availability, the 2022 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-equipped, best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
