Used 2022 Lexus RX for Sale nearAmarillo, TX

How much does the 2022 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 5.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,970 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus RX earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, luxury feel, smooth ride, and feature-rich cabin. The expert review also points to strong ride quality and standard advanced safety features, while the RX’s appeal is tied to its comfort, quality, and reliability.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the design can be polarizing, the ergonomics are poor, and the driving experience is not especially engaging. That matters most if you want a luxury SUV for relaxed commuting and long-distance comfort rather than quick acceleration or sporty handling.

With the RX positioned as a comfort-first midsize luxury SUV, it fits you best if you value refinement and easy ownership over performance. Good and great deals account for 37.5% of listings, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to a comfortable, dependable, and trouble-free ownership experience, with buyers highlighting the RX as a vehicle they can count on over time. The expert review also emphasizes the RX’s reputation for comfort, quality, and reliability, reinforcing that this is a model built around long-term appeal.

That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition, since a luxury SUV’s long-term ownership costs can rise if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus RX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status does not replace a full inspection. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the cabin electronics and comfort features work as expected. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you want to confirm that the vehicle has been cared for consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas model is available in base 350, F Sport, and L trim levels. The base and L versions emphasize the standard luxury setup, while F Sport adds a more athletic appearance with 20-inch wheels, black-housing outside mirrors, dark window trimming, F Sport badging, and a unique front fascia. The base and L variants use 18-inch wheels and a more restrained look, so you should pay attention to whether the features you want are standard or trim-specific.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a standard 3.5-liter V6 with 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the RX 350, with all-wheel drive available.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist and lane-tracing assist, a pre-collision system with cyclist- and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect are also standard. The RX earns its top IIHS designation only with optional triple-beam LED headlights.
• Infotainment: Standard infotainment uses an 8-inch touchscreen, with a 12.3-inch version available. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the RX also offers wireless charging, Amazon Alexa compatibility, a WiFi hotspot, navigation with cloud-based updates, and Lexus App connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 returns 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus RX is offered in 3 trim levels: base 350, F Sport, and L.

Here's the short version:

• base 350: This is the trim to start with if you want the core RX experience at the lowest entry point. You still get the standard V6, the standard safety suite, and the RX’s comfort-first character, so it makes sense if you want the best value without chasing appearance upgrades.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the most aggressive styling and a more athletic look. It adds 20-inch wheels, black-housing mirrors, dark window trim, F Sport badging, and a unique front fascia, but the review makes clear that the RX still prioritizes comfort over real performance.
• L: Pick this if you need the three-row, 7-passenger layout. It’s the right choice when passenger capacity matters more than the sportier styling cues of the F Sport.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the top IIHS designation requires optional triple-beam LED headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,970 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,226, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $38,226 sits slightly below last year's $40,622.

That softer pricing suggests the RX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago, which can narrow the upside for a future seller in the short term. If you buy well now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but resale gains are likely to depend more on condition, mileage, and trim desirability than on broad market appreciation.

Because the RX has a strong reputation for comfort, quality, and reliability, it should continue to attract steady shopper interest. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX safe?

The 2022 Lexus RX has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but only if equipped with the optional triple-beam LED headlights. It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist and lane-tracing assist, a pre-collision system with cyclist- and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and Lexus Enform Safety Connect are also standard.

The main caveat is that the RX misses the IIHS top-tier plus designation because of its headlights rating, so you should confirm the lighting setup on any used example you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s a carryover year with minimal changes, including new colors and a standalone fog lamps option.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,026, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $38,226 average.
• It offers comfort, reliability, and a few tech upgrades.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $45,055, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $38,226 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with more polish and stronger tech appeal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the familiar RX formula at a softer price than the newer redesign. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money while keeping much of the same comfort-first appeal.
