Is the 2022 Lexus NX reliable?

The 2022 NX is built around Lexus’s pillars of bold design, advanced technology, electrification, and a dynamic tuning recipe, which supports the impression of a well-developed product. Its powertrain lineup includes a turbocharged gas engine, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid options, and the brand positions the model as a more modern and more technologically advanced SUV than before.

The expert review also points to a composed, capable driving feel and a strong emphasis on advanced systems, which helps reinforce confidence in day-to-day use. The maintenance reminder and connected service features add convenience for ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the vehicle’s tech-heavy equipment and premium features have been kept in good working order.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus NX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a careful inspection of the electronics, touchscreen functions, and driver-assistance features, since this NX leans heavily on technology. You should also pay close attention to cabin condition and control usability, especially if you want a more intuitive daily driving experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base setup emphasizes the NX’s stylish design and standard advanced safety features, while Premium adds more safety equipment and convenience features. Higher trims add more upscale materials and sportier or more luxurious touches, so the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more equipment.
• Powertrain: The NX 250 uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 203 horsepower and front-wheel drive, while the NX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. The NX 350 is the more rewarding choice if you want stronger performance.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, Emergency Driving Stop System, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, Safe Exit Assist, and pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection. Rear pedestrian detection comes with Premium trim, along with adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, and rear cross-traffic braking.
• Infotainment: A 9.8-inch touchscreen is standard, and a 14-inch screen is available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and over-the-air software updates are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The NX 350h offers an EPA-estimated 39 mpg in combined driving, while the NX 450h+ delivers an estimated 36 miles of pure electric range before switching to gas-electric hybrid operation. The NX 350 is estimated at 25 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2022 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus NX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the trim to target if you want the NX’s core appeal at the lowest entry point. You still get the model’s stylish design, advanced technology, and standard safety suite, but it is the trim most likely to feel light on extras.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful safety and convenience upgrades without pushing you all the way to the pricier luxury-focused versions. It also brings rear pedestrian detection and several useful driver-assistance features.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportiest feel in the lineup. It adds a more aggressive look, sport-bolstered seats, unique instrumentation, and a more performance-oriented driving setup.
• Luxury: This is the trim for you if cabin materials matter most. It adds real leather and open-pore wood trim, making the NX feel more upscale inside.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but Premium adds several notable features that make it the trim to watch.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 917 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $35,008, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $35,008 sits slightly below last year's $36,891.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, which can also mean future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

The NX’s premium positioning and strong feature content should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a stylish, tech-forward compact luxury SUV. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned 2022 NX brings bold design, advanced technology, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:
