Used 2022 Lexus LX for Sale near West Virginia

Is the 2022 Lexus LX a good car?

Generally — you rate it 4/5, and the expert rating is 7.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10.

The 2022 Lexus LX is a long-overdue redesign of Lexus’ flagship SUV, and that matters because you get a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6. It also keeps the LX’s serious underlying capability thanks to its Toyota Land Cruiser roots, while adding standard all-wheel drive and a comfortable ride that make it easier to live with day to day.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the design may be polarizing, fuel economy is poor, and the technology can be unintuitive. If you want a large luxury SUV with real capability and a more modern foundation, the LX makes sense; if you prioritize slick tech or efficiency, you may want to look elsewhere.

Good and great deals account for 28.8% of listings, so there is at least some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Lexus LX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 LX is built around a new platform and a twin-turbocharged V6, which gives it a more modern mechanical foundation than the previous generation. Lexus also positions it as a serious luxury SUV with real underlying capability, and the expert evaluation highlights a comfortable ride and strong off-road hardware as part of that package.

The powertrain is described as a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with low range, and the expert notes that the chassis emphasizes both on-road comfort and off-road capability. Lexus also includes a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the LX’s complexity and premium hardware can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than you’d expect from a mainstream SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus LX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with a lot of technology and off-road hardware. Focus on how the cabin electronics, suspension behavior, and drivetrain operate in real-world use, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gives you the core LX experience, while the F Sport adds sporty styling elements such as a black mesh grille, model-specific 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter, and sport seats. The Ultra Luxury is the most fully equipped version and includes every feature from the lower trims as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: The LX uses a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with low range. It is quicker than the previous V8 model, but fuel economy remains a weak point.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. There is no equivalent to Cadillac’s Super Cruise or Lincoln’s ActiveGlide.
• Infotainment: The LX uses a dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and 7-inch lower touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless phone charging, and Apple Music and Amazon Music integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX is EPA-rated at 19 mpg combined (17 mpg city, 22 mpg highway), and the expert observed 16.5 mpg in mixed driving.

Which 2022 Lexus LX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus LX is offered in 5 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the redesigned LX’s core strengths, including standard all-wheel drive, the new twin-turbo V6, and the updated infotainment and driver-assist tech. It makes sense if you want the LX experience without stretching for extras.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim if you want a step up from the base model without jumping too far in price. It sits in the middle of the lineup and should be the trim to target if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and cost.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance package. It adds a black mesh grille, 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter, and sport seats, but it does not bring the mechanical upgrades of a true performance model.
• Luxury: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale experience and are willing to pay for it. It sits near the top of the range and is aimed at buyers who want more comfort and equipment than the lower trims provide.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the top trim, and it includes every feature from the lower trims as standard equipment. It is the right pick if you want the most complete LX and do not plan to add options.

The LX comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 group of driver aids, so even the lower trims start with a strong safety package.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus LX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine.

The bottom line: The 2022 LX is the right pick if you want the redesigned model with the modernized powertrain, updated tech, and the flagship SUV character that makes it distinctive. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to shop carefully and compare listings closely, since the market has a moderate share of good or great deals rather than an overwhelming surplus.
