Used 2022 Lexus LX for Sale near Iowa

Is the 2022 Lexus LX a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Lexus LX earns 4/5 from users and 7.00/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Performance at 8/10. The 2022 LX is a long-overdue redesign with a new platform, updated infotainment and driver-assist technology, and a new twin-turbocharged V6, so it feels more modern than the previous generation. It also brings standard all-wheel drive, a comfortable ride, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which fit its role as a luxury SUV meant to balance capability with everyday comfort. The trade-offs are that the design may be polarizing and the technology can be unintuitive, with poor fuel economy also weighing on the package. Good and great deals account for 27.0% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Lexus LX reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2022 LX is built on a new platform and pairs its redesign with a twin-turbocharged V6 and updated driver-assist technology, which gives you a more current foundation than the outgoing model. Its performance setup is aimed at both comfort and capability, and Lexus also includes a four-year, 50,000-mile basic warranty plus a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a complex luxury SUV with strong capability and advanced tech can be costly to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus LX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper history review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the drivetrain, suspension, and electronics, since this LX combines a new powertrain with a lot of technology. Pay close attention to how the cabin functions in real use, especially if you plan to rely on the infotainment and driver-assist systems often.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim starts the lineup, while the Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury add more equipment. The F Sport brings sporty styling touches such as a black mesh grille, model-specific 22-inch wheels, an F Sport steering wheel, shifter and sport seats, plus exclusive Ultra White exterior and Circuit Red interior colors. The Ultra Luxury includes every feature from the lower trims as standard equipment.
• Powertrain: The 2022 model switches to a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with a 10-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with low range. It makes 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, and F Sport models add a Torsen limited-slip differential.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. There is no hands-free driving system equivalent to Cadillac Super Cruise or Lincoln ActiveGlide.
• Infotainment: You get a dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch upper touchscreen and a 7-inch lower touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, wireless phone charging, and Apple Music and Amazon Music integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX is rated at 19 mpg combined, 17 mpg city, and 22 mpg highway.

Which 2022 Lexus LX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus LX is offered in 5 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, Luxury, and Ultra Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point if you want the LX’s core strengths without moving up the price ladder. It gives you the redesigned platform, standard all-wheel drive, the twin-turbo V6, and the full safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• Premium: This is the next step up and makes sense if you want a more upscale experience without jumping straight to the higher-priced trims. It builds on the base model with more equipment and is the logical value move if you want extra comfort and convenience.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportier appearance package. It adds black mesh grille treatment, 22-inch wheels, F Sport-specific interior pieces, and exclusive colors, but it does not add the kind of mechanical upgrades you’d expect from a full performance model.
• Luxury: This is the trim to target if you want the more indulgent side of the LX. It adds more premium equipment and is the better fit if you care most about comfort and upscale features.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the top trim and the one for you if you want the most complete LX experience. It includes every feature from the lower trims as standard equipment, so it is the most fully equipped choice.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims to get the core driver-assistance features.

The LX comes standard with the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 group of driver aids, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, emergency steering assist, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning with steering assist, and Lane Tracing Assist automated lane centering. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts. The LX does not offer a hands-free driving system equivalent to Cadillac Super Cruise or Lincoln ActiveGlide, so if that feature matters to you, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

• Accident-free inventory is solid at 86.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
