Used 2022 Lexus GX for Sale nearOklahoma City, OK

How much does the 2022 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 4.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,232 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus GX earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 4.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 6/10.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, reliability, comfort, spacious interior, and stylish design. That lines up with the GX’s use case as a rugged luxury SUV built for towing and off-road driving rather than everyday polish. If you want a traditional body-on-frame SUV with a standard V8 and standard four-wheel drive, this model year fits that brief well.

It also shows strong market appeal, with 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, and the expert evaluation reinforces that reputation by describing the GX’s reputation for bulletproof reliability. It also notes that the SUV’s rugged construction and traditional hardware are part of what makes it appealing to buyers who want something durable and capable over the long haul.

Lexus also includes a complimentary three years of Safety Connect, which adds some ownership peace of mind. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about living with an aging design that can feel dated and costly to keep satisfying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus GX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean title alone does not tell you how the SUV was used or maintained. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, brakes, electronics, and interior condition, since this model’s age and rugged mission can hide wear. Pay close attention to whether the vehicle feels consistent with the mileage and whether the cabin and controls show the kind of aging you can live with.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2022 Lexus GX 460 is available in Standard, Premium, and Luxury trim, and the base setup leaves you with a more basic equipment mix than the higher trims. The Black Line Special Edition is based on the Premium trim.
• Powertrain: A 4.6-liter V8 makes 301 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic and full-time 4WD. The setup emphasizes torque, towing, and refinement more than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect are also included.
• Infotainment: The GX uses a 10.3-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, and navigation. It also includes a dual-screen view, and Lexus makes Intuitive Parking Assist standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The GX is described as having an EPA estimate of 16 mpg in combined driving, and the expert evaluation also notes 16.8 mpg on a testing loop.

Which 2022 Lexus GX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus GX is offered in 3 trim levels: Standard, Premium, Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GX’s core formula — the V8, full-time 4WD, and rugged capability — without paying for extra luxury equipment. It makes sense if you care most about the GX’s traditional SUV character and want to keep the purchase price lower.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it builds on the base setup while also serving as the foundation for the Black Line Special Edition. If you want a more balanced mix of equipment and value, this is the trim to focus on first.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want the most upscale GX and plan to take advantage of the available Off-Road Package. That package adds Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, skid plates, improved drivetrain cooling, and both Multi-Terrain and Panoramic View monitoring cameras.

The Off-Road Package is available only with the Luxury trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,232 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $46,788, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $46,788 sits slightly below last year's $48,921.

That softer pricing suggests the GX has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its value curve. For a future seller, that can mean less upside if the market stays soft, especially because this is a niche SUV with a narrower audience than more mainstream luxury crossovers.

At the same time, the GX’s rugged reputation and loyal following help support demand among shoppers who specifically want towing and off-road capability. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, that can help preserve value better than you might expect for an aging luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus GX safe?

The Lexus GX is a teenager, so there aren’t any crash-test ratings to consult when assessing the safety of this SUV.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Lexus Safety System+ includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. The GX also includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safety Connect with automatic collision notification and emergency calling. Safety Connect is complimentary for three years.

The main caveat is the absence of several modern driver-assistance features that many rivals offer, including lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, and other advanced highway-driving aids.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a new 10.3-inch touchscreen with standard smartphone integration and a more modern infotainment setup.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $41,234, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $46,788 average.
• It keeps the GX’s rugged body-on-frame construction and true off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $54,709, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $46,788 average.
• It leans harder into towing and off-road comfort with the same V8-driven formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and updated tech, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 gives you the same basic rugged character for less money.
