How much does the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid cost?

Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 243 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The ES Hybrid fits you well if you want a luxury sedan that prioritizes quiet comfort, spaciousness, and easy day-to-day use over sporty drama. The 2022 updates also help it feel more current, thanks to the new touchscreen infotainment display and the latest Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver-assistance tech.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and uninspired styling. If you care more about relaxed commuting and low-stress ownership than sharp handling, those compromises are easier to live with.

38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid is presented as a quiet, comfortable, and reliable sedan, and its hybrid setup is described as efficient and easy to live with. The powertrain uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric drive-assist motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack, and the car is praised for returning fantastic fuel economy without much effort.

Lexus also adds a touchscreen infotainment system and upgraded safety tech for 2022, which can make ownership feel simpler and less frustrating. The first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that you may be paying for luxury comfort and efficiency rather than especially engaging performance, so condition and maintenance history matter more than chasing a sportier driving feel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re shopping from the lower end of the price range. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and how well the tech and driver-assistance features work in real-world use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The ES 300h comes in Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport trim. The F Sport adds black 19-inch wheels and a racier look, but it is described as an appearance package rather than a meaningful change in driving feel, so the base trims may be the smarter value if you want comfort over styling.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric drive-assist motor and a lithium-ion battery pack for 215 horsepower. It is front-wheel drive, and the CVT is tuned for smoothness and efficiency rather than excitement.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assistance, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, evasive steering assistance, Intersection Turning Assist, and Curve Speed Reduction. The lane-centering and curve-speed features can feel intrusive, so test them on your own routes.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen display is mounted 4.3 inches closer to you and includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration. Voice recognition is described as fast and accurate, and the new setup is a major usability improvement over the older interface.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is described as returning 37 mpg on a testing route, and the official combined figure is 44 mpg.

Which 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the best-value choice if you want the ES Hybrid’s core strengths — quiet comfort, strong fuel economy, and standard Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 — without paying extra for appearance-focused upgrades.
• Luxury: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for added comfort and convenience features over the Base trim.
• Ultra Luxury: This is the pick if you want the most comfort-oriented version of the ES Hybrid and plan to prioritize refinement over price.
• F Sport: Pick this only if you want the sportier look, black 19-inch wheels, and the unique styling touches. It does not add a sport-tuned suspension, so it is not the trim to choose for sharper handling.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly when you find the right car.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 76.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,742, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $35,802 sits slightly above last year's $34,175.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, especially given its comfort-first appeal and strong efficiency. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you should have a decent chance of holding value better than a less desirable luxury sedan.

The price trend also shows that demand has remained steady enough to support current pricing. For a future seller, that means a clean, well-kept example should remain easier to move than one with visible wear or a questionable history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid safe?

The 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid earns five-star ratings from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-centering assistance, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, evasive steering assistance, Intersection Turning Assist, and Curve Speed Reduction.

One caveat is that the lane-centering and curve-speed features can feel overly assertive or reactive in some situations, so you may want to test how they behave on your usual roads before relying on them heavily.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.76% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 update adds a touchscreen infotainment display and Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which makes this year feel more modern and easier to live with.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the updated infotainment and safety tech in a comfort-first luxury hybrid sedan. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2022’s feature updates and strong owner satisfaction make it the cleaner choice for most shoppers.
