Used 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid cost?

Prices are up 4.13% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 242 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The overview and test-drive notes point to a luxury sedan that prioritizes quiet comfort, spaciousness, and easy day-to-day use over sporty drama. You also get a fresh look for 2022, plus a touchscreen infotainment display and updated Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which help the car feel more current and easier to live with.

The main trade-offs are fairly pedestrian performance and uninspired styling. If you want a comfort-first hybrid luxury sedan rather than something that feels athletic, this setup fits that use case well.

39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview describes it as quiet, comfortable, and reliable, and the expert notes reinforce that it’s built around composed, easygoing daily driving. The hybrid powertrain is described as delivering instant torque from the electric motor, and the car’s fuel economy is called fantastic for a large luxury sedan.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to strong value for the money, with the car offering style, luxury, and spacious comfort at a relatively accessible price point for the class. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about durability and more about whether the car’s calm, modest performance matches what you want over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or a car with incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, interior wear, and whether the technology and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The car comes in Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport trim. The F Sport is described as an appearance package rather than a meaningful change in driving feel, so base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to the equipment they’re giving up.
• Powertrain: The hybrid setup uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, an electric drive assist motor, and a lithium-ion battery pack for 215 horsepower. It is front-wheel drive, and the transmission is an electronic continuously variable automatic.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-centering assistance, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, evasive steering assistance, Intersection Turning Assist, and Curve Speed Reduction.
• Infotainment: The touchscreen infotainment display is mounted 4.3 inches closer to the driver and front passenger, and it includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The car is described as returning 37 mpg on the test route, and the official combined rating is 44 mpg.

Which 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the trim to start with if you want the ES Hybrid’s core strengths — quiet comfort, strong fuel economy, and the updated touchscreen and safety tech — without paying for extras that don’t change the car’s basic mission.
• Luxury: This trim makes sense if you want a more upscale daily driver and value the ES’s comfort-first personality, spacious cabin, and easy-to-use technology.
• Ultra Luxury: Choose this if you want the most comfort-oriented version of the ES Hybrid and are willing to pay more for the richest equipment level.
• F Sport: This is the one to pick only if you want the sportier look, because the content says it is mainly an appearance package and does not add the firmer, more athletic feel you might expect.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get Lexus Safety System+ 2.5.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.13% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 78.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $32,739, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $35,714 sits slightly above last year's $34,299.

That year-over-year increase suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The combination of comfort, efficiency, and updated tech helps support demand, especially among buyers who want a luxury sedan that is easy to live with.

Because the price trend is moving upward, a well-kept example should remain relatively appealing to future shoppers. Strong condition and a clean history will matter even more if you want to protect resale value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid safe?

The 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and five-star crash protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-centering assistance, forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, evasive steering assistance, Intersection Turning Assist, and Curve Speed Reduction.

The main caveat is that the lane-centering system and Curve Speed Reduction can feel intrusive or uncertain in some driving situations, so you may prefer to turn them off on winding roads or when you want a more natural driving feel.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus ES Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.13% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 update adds a touchscreen infotainment display and Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, while also giving the ES Hybrid a fresh look and the first F Sport trim.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the updated infotainment and safety tech, plus the comfort-first character that defines this hybrid sedan. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2022’s updates and strong owner satisfaction give it a solid case as the primary choice.
