FAQs
The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador is a world-class supercar that turns heads wherever it goes. It would be just as at home parked in front of a Monaco casino as it would participating in a track-day event. The Aventador is the range-topping V12-powered supercar from the Italian automaker, slotting above the V10-powered Huracan. 2022 is the end of the line for the Aventador, and its replacement will likely have a hybrid powertrain.
To commemorate the Aventador production run coming to a close, Lamborghini is offering 600 examples of a special-edition “Ultimae.” Of these, 350 will be coupes and 250 will be roadsters. The Aventador features stealth-fighter-inspired styling, as well as the telltale scissor doors. They give way to a driver-focused cockpit with aeronautical style switchgear. The Aventador shows its age with a dated infotainment system, but it does offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Aventador features a pair of leather bucket seats that can be personalized with numerous touches and premium materials. There is not much room for anything but the two occupants in the cabin. Up front, a small trunk provides roughly five cubic feet of cargo space.
The Aventador features a 6.5-liter V12 engine that is naturally aspirated (no turbocharging or supercharging). Located behind the driver in an ideal mid-engine layout, it makes 769 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through a 7-speed automated manual transmission. This powertrain is thirsty, rated at 9 mpg city, 16 highway, and 11 combined, but it will also rocket from zero to 60 mph in under three seconds and hit a top speed of 217 mph.
The Aventador features Strada, Sport, Corsa, and Ego drive modes. Each one brings unique tuning to the powertrain response, suspension feel, and steering feedback. Lamborghini offers an optional data recorder that saves lap times and performance data.
While you can find plenty of modern driver-assistance features as standard equipment on a common economy car, you won’t find them on the Aventador.
The 2022 Lamborghini Aventador starts at around $500,000 for the coupe, and the roadster starts at around $550,000. Both are backed by a powertrain warranty that covers three years and unlimited miles.
