About 2020 Lamborghini Aventador
Overview

Lamborghini’s core lineup usually features a one-two punch when it comes to gorgeous supercars. The second part of that team is fulfilled by the flagship Aventador, which has been around since 2012. Available in both fixed-roof Coupe and removable-roof Roadster versions, it gets a new range-topping option for 2020.
Both the Coupe and Roadster body styles come in S and SVJ trims, the latter a new option for the Roadster. The S packs a mid-mounted, naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that puts forth 730 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque, plus a seven-speed automated-manual transmission. You make the most of that power with standard all-wheel drive (AWD) and four-wheel steering. The SVJ comes with a number of enhancements that unlock 759 hp and 530 lb-ft. Both the S and SVJ hit 62 miles per hour in around 2.9 seconds and max out at 217 miles per hour.
The Aventador is a performance car and not a luxury lounge, so features are relatively few. But you do get LED headlights and taillights, a digital instrument cluster, keyless access, an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Optional features include a performance data recorder and an uprated sound system.
Lamborghini also doesn’t pay much mind to the safety systems that burden normal mortal cars here, and so the only things you’ll find are a rear-view camera and front and rear parking sensors. Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Agency (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has ever evaluated the Aventador for crash safety, but that’s not unusual for cars at this end of the pricing spectrum.
The Lamborghini Aventador is simply the last word in performance and art.
