For 2022, Kia made a few notable updates to the Sorento. The appealing X-Line package is now available with S and EX trim in addition to the SX Prestige. The Sorento Hybrid gains a new all-wheel-drive option, and the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid debuts with the ability to travel 32 miles on electricity before switching to gas-electric hybrid propulsion and returning 34 mpg in combined driving. Even so, the Sorento’s third row is cramped, and the voice recognition system is poor, so it is best suited to buyers who value style, available efficiency, and family-friendly flexibility more than maximum passenger space.
