Used 2022 Kia Seltos for Sale nearProvidence, RI

How much does the 2022 Kia Seltos cost?

Prices have softened 8.35% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,450 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Seltos earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and impressive fuel economy, and they also like the advanced features and handling. That lines up with the Seltos’ practical, approachable personality and its appeal as a small crossover that is easy to live with. The main trade-offs are an irritating transmission, cheap-feeling interior materials, and a noisy cabin. Even so, it fits well if you want a well-rounded small SUV with useful space and user-friendly tech. Good and great deals account for 36.8% of listings, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because they highlight comfort, smoothness, and fuel economy. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Kia backs the Seltos with a terrific warranty and that it should deliver the fuel economy shown on the window sticker. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you can live with the transmission behavior and cabin noise.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, because accident-free listings are common but not guaranteed. Prioritize a careful inspection of the transmission behavior, cabin condition, and road-noise levels on a test drive. It also makes sense to focus on whether the trim you’re considering includes the safety and tech features you want, since equipment varies meaningfully by version.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX, S, EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX each bring different equipment levels, and the base versions leave out some of the more advanced convenience and safety content.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 146 horsepower in the LX, S, and EX, while the Nightfall Edition and SX use a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 175 hp and a more satisfying feel.
• Safety package: Forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and Rear Occupant Alert are included, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert move up to the EX and are optional on the S.
• Infotainment: The 10.25-inch touchscreen is standard on the EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX, optional on the S, and the LX and S use an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but the larger system uses a cable connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The Nightfall Edition returned 27 mpg in combined driving, and the base engine is described as delivering the fuel economy shown on the window sticker.

Which 2022 Kia Seltos trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Seltos is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, S, EX, Nightfall Edition, and SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Seltos formula with the 2.0-liter engine, standard AWD, and the basic safety and infotainment setup.
• S: This trim is the value-minded choice if you want the Seltos’ everyday usability with more flexibility, including available FWD or AWD and the option for the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen.
• EX: This is the best-value trim if you want a stronger mix of convenience and safety, because it adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert while also getting the 10.25-inch touchscreen standard.
• Nightfall Edition: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine and a more distinctive look, including matte-black 18-inch wheels and blacked-out styling.
• SX: This is the most feature-rich version, adding the turbo engine plus adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, Highway Driving Assist, and Safe Exit Assist.

The SX is the only trim that gets adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, Highway Driving Assist, and Safe Exit Assist.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Seltos?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,450 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,575, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Seltos's resale value?

The current average of $17,575 sits slightly below last year's $19,176.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The current range suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can be helpful if you plan to own it for a while before selling. Strong owner satisfaction can support demand later, especially for shoppers who value comfort, space, and easy-to-use tech.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Seltos safe?

The 2022 Kia Seltos earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a four-star performance in the front-passenger frontal-impact crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Kia equips the Seltos with forward-collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and Rear Occupant Alert. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are added on the EX and are optional on the S. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, Highway Driving Assist, and Safe Exit Assist are reserved for the SX. The crash-test caveat is that only the SX qualifies for the IIHS award because other versions fall short on headlight performance.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Seltos or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 adds a Nightfall Edition and expands availability of the driver-assist and 10.25-inch infotainment systems.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,739, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $17,575 average.
• It offers a high-quality cabin with refined driving dynamics and plenty of cabin and cargo space.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the newer model-year updates, stronger market selection, and a still-softened price. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the better value path, especially if you find one in good condition with the features you want.
