Is the 2022 Kia Rio a good car?

With no expert test-drive score provided here, the best way to judge this model year is by the market signals: the average used price is $13,963, and the listing mix shows 29.7% of cars are priced as good or great deals. That combination suggests you can shop selectively and still find competitive pricing if you compare condition and history carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Rio?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any car you’re seriously considering and prioritize listings with clean records. A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful here, since condition can vary more than price alone suggests. Focus on maintenance history, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s wear matches its mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Rio?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 387 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,050, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Rio's resale value?

The current average of $13,963 sits slightly below last year's $14,232.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because buyers will likely compare your car against a fairly broad pool of similarly priced listings. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you protect value better than mileage alone.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Rio or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.89% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of current pricing and available inventory, the 2022 is the primary year to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the tradeoff in condition, history, or availability.
