Used 2022 Kia Forte for Sale nearNew Orleans, LA

How much does the 2022 Kia Forte cost?

Prices have softened 9.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,059 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia Forte earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

The Forte’s appeal is rooted in its modern equipment, sharper styling, and strong value for money, and it also stands out as spacious for a compact car. The trade-offs are that the base engine is underwhelming and the car can be noisy, so it fits you best if you want a well-equipped affordable sedan more than a refined one.

With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Forte’s long warranty coverage and value-focused positioning support its reliability case, and the available technology and driver-assist upgrades add to its everyday appeal. Its standard powertrain is described as underwhelming, but the car is still presented as a practical, easy-to-live-with compact sedan.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a neglected example, since condition and maintenance history matter more when you’re shopping a value-oriented car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia Forte?

At 74.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the car has any signs of prior damage or inconsistent maintenance. Focus on overall condition, especially how the car drives, how the electronics work, and whether the cabin and exterior show wear that matches the mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: FE and LXS give you the 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while GT-Line and GT add a sportier look, brighter equipment, and more upscale tech. The GT trim is the most distinctive choice if you want the strongest visual and driving character.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower and a CVT, while GT models switch to a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 201 hp and either a manual or dual-clutch automatic.
• Safety package: Standard equipment across all trims includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a driver monitoring system. GT-Line and GT add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking, and Safe Exit Warning.
• Infotainment: FE and LXS get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GT-Line and GT move to a 10.25-inch screen, but smartphone mirroring is wired, and the larger setup adds SiriusXM, voice recognition, and Kia Connect features.
• Fuel efficiency: The FE is rated at 35 mpg combined and up to 41 mpg on the highway, while the LXS and GT-Line are rated at 33 mpg combined. The GT’s turbo setup is rated at 26 mpg combined with the manual and 30 mpg combined with the DCT.

Which 2022 Kia Forte trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia Forte is offered in 4 trim levels: FE, LXS, GT-Line, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• FE: This is the efficiency-first choice, and it’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest entry price and the best highway fuel economy.
• LXS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it gives you the essentials without overcomplicating the car, while still keeping the Forte’s strong tech story intact.
• GT-Line: This is the right pick if you want the sportier appearance and the added safety and convenience features that come with the higher trim.
• GT: This is the enthusiast choice, with the turbocharged engine, more engaging chassis tuning, and the most distinctive equipment; it’s the one to buy if you want the Forte to feel the most special.

GT-Line and GT also bring the added safety features from the higher trim level, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking, and Safe Exit Warning.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia Forte?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,059 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,029, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia Forte's resale value?

The current average of $16,029 sits slightly below last year's $17,630.

That decline suggests the Forte has become more affordable for used buyers, which can make it easier for you to enter the market now. For a future seller, the softer pricing means resale upside may be more limited unless the car is especially clean, well maintained, and equipped with desirable features.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia Forte safe?

The 2022 Kia Forte earns a four-star overall crash protection rating from NHTSA, and the IIHS gives its crashworthiness and driving assist systems high marks.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Across all trim levels, standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a driver monitoring system. GT-Line and GT add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with rear automatic braking, and Safe Exit Warning, while higher trims can also add adaptive cruise control features and Highway Driving Assist.

The main caveat is that the NHTSA result is not especially strong, and the IIHS testing remains incomplete for the revised LED headlights on the GT.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia Forte or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings sharper styling plus updated infotainment, driver-assist, and collision-avoidance systems.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $17,890, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $16,029 average.
• It adds a broader appeal with a more comfort-focused, manual-transmission-friendly setup.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2022 is the smarter buy because it combines lower pricing with strong equipment and a broad trim range. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2023 is worth a look for its added polish and broader appeal.
