How much does the 2022 Kia EV6 cost?

Prices have softened 6.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 609 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Kia EV6 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful performance, and stylish design, and many also like the spacious interior and advanced safety features. The overview points to a car that stands out for style, tech, acceleration, and charging speed, which fits buyers who want something more distinctive than a typical practical EV. The main trade-offs are unimpressive electric range and limited cargo space, so it makes the most sense if you value design and driving enjoyment over maximum utility.

Only 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some room for negotiation but still rewards shoppers who move quickly on the right car.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a smooth, dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the EV6 as a car they enjoy living with over time. The expert notes also emphasize that it is easy to charge at home and that its tech and driving character make it appealing for regular use. The biggest long-term ownership risk for used buyers is battery-related range loss in real-world conditions, so you should pay close attention to how the car has been charged and used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Kia EV6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the car has been used in ways that may have accelerated battery wear. For an EV, battery health matters as much as cosmetic condition, so ask how the car has been charged and whether it has shown any unusual range loss.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Light trim is the least desirable because it has the small battery pack and undersized single motor, while the Wind RWD is the recommended starting point and the GT-Line adds more equipment and capability.
• Powertrain: The base Light uses a single motor with 167 hp and a 58 kWh battery, while higher trims move to a larger battery and stronger single-motor or dual-motor setups; the dual-motor GT-Line e-AWD makes 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: The standard Highway Driving Assist suite includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert; front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras, and the GT-Line adds evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The EV6 uses dual 12-inch screens, and the system includes navigation and a wireless charger; wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included, since those projection systems require a wired connection.
• Range & charging: The base battery is 58 kWh, and the car can accept up to 240 kW DC fast charging; in testing, it took 35 minutes to go from 15 to 80 percent at a fast charger, though real-world range was disappointing in cold weather.
• Battery health: Check battery state-of-health carefully, ask about typical home charging versus DC fast charging, and confirm how much of the battery warranty remains so you know what protection you still have as a used buyer.

Which 2022 Kia EV6 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Kia EV6 is offered in 4 trim levels: Light, Wind RWD, Wind AWD, GT-Line.

Here's the short version:

• Light: This is the entry trim, but it is the least appealing choice because it has the smallest battery and the weakest motor, so it makes sense only if price is your overriding concern.
• Wind RWD: This is the best-value trim because it starts with the larger battery and a more acceptable single-motor setup, making it the smartest balance of range, equipment, and price.
• Wind AWD: Choose this if you want the added traction and the extra safety hardware, including automatic rear braking and 360 cameras.
• GT-Line: This is the most feature-rich choice, adding evasive steering assist, more advanced adaptive cruise behavior, and higher-end equipment for buyers who want the fullest EV6 experience.

The safety package starts on the base Light trim, but the Wind and GT-Line trims add meaningful upgrades that make them easier to recommend.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Kia EV6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 609 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,525, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Kia EV6's resale value?

The current average of $22,293 sits slightly below last year's $23,753.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the EV6 still has strong appeal thanks to its design and tech, which should help keep demand healthy. The challenge is that range concerns and limited cargo space may keep some shoppers on the sidelines, which can pressure resale values compared with more practical rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Kia EV6 safe?

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The EV6 has no published test results from any government or independent agency in the U.S. The standard Highway Driving Assist system includes lane-keeping, cyclist and pedestrian detection, front and rear cross-traffic alert, a driver attention monitor, rear parking sensors, safe exit warning, and rear occupant alert. Front parking sensors come on the Wind RWD trim, while the Wind AWD adds automatic rear braking and 360 cameras, and the GT-Line adds evasive steering assist and more advanced adaptive cruise behavior.

Should I buy a 2022 Kia EV6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as Kia’s first ground-up EV, with standout style, strong tech, and quick charging that help it feel more distinctive than many rivals.

The bottom line: Buy the 2022 if you want the EV6’s original formula at a lower used price and you’re comfortable prioritizing style, tech, and driving enjoyment over maximum range and cargo space. If you’re shopping mainly on price, the softer market makes this year appealing; if you want the most complete EV6 package, you may want to compare it with nearby model years before deciding.
