How much does the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 12.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,995 listings available, which gives you a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, impressive safety features, and quality interior materials. The review summary also points to a strong overall sense of satisfaction, with the cabin materials and upscale presentation standing out.

The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, and the value equation is not especially strong. That said, the overview frames this SUV as a fit for you if you want a stylish, capable daily driver that still feels at home on rough terrain.

With 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the vehicle’s quality, comfort, and confidence-inspiring character. The expert review also emphasizes that the Grand Cherokee is built to handle a wide range of conditions while still feeling refined in everyday use.

Jeep includes three complimentary oil changes and tire rotations during the first 36 months of ownership, which helps reduce early maintenance costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher-complexity versions can be more expensive to keep up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any listing you like, even if the price looks attractive. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has higher-end equipment or off-road hardware. Focus on overall condition, because the best examples will show careful ownership and fewer signs of wear.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Laredo is the simplest and most affordable version, while Summit Reserve is the most luxurious. Trailhawk adds off-road equipment and capability, and lower trims use a more functional matte-black finish where higher trims can have reflective gloss-black controls.
• Powertrain: You can choose rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with V6 and V8 options. The V6 is the more efficient choice and still delivers good acceleration and passing power, while the V8 adds stronger output and towing capacity.
• Safety package: Active Driving Assist brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centering assistance. Intersection Collision Assist is also included, and the system can disconnect on tighter curves, so you should not assume it replaces driver attention.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 is standard, with over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen on most trims. A 10.1-inch screen is available on most versions and standard on Summit and Summit Reserve.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA estimates range from 17 mpg in combined driving with the V8 and 4WD to 21 mpg with the V6 and any drivetrain. The expert test drive also recorded 21.3 mpg with the V6 and Quadra-Trac I.

Which 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is offered in 7 trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• Laredo: This is the value-oriented starting point if you want the Grand Cherokee’s style and core capability without paying for the upper-trim luxury extras. It is the simplest choice, and the review team notes that it still looks and feels more expensive than it is.
• Altitude: Choose this if you want a step up from the base trim without jumping all the way into the pricier luxury end of the lineup. It keeps the Grand Cherokee formula intact while adding more presence.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it balances equipment, comfort, and technology without pushing too far into premium pricing. It also unlocks the optional front passenger interactive display.
• Trailhawk: Pick this if off-road capability is your priority. It adds serious trail hardware, including Quadra-Drive II, an electronic locking rear differential, air suspension, and off-road-focused equipment.
• Overland: This trim suits you if you want a more upscale feel and access to the more advanced four-wheel-drive setup without going all the way to the top luxury trims.
• Summit: This is for buyers who want a more premium cabin and advanced tech, including the larger touchscreen standard and access to the more advanced drivetrain hardware.
• Summit Reserve: This is the luxury flagship, with the richest interior presentation and the most pampering features. It is the trim to choose if comfort and prestige matter more than value.

The safety package is a strong part of the lineup, but you should still confirm which driver-assistance features are standard on the specific trim you are considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,995 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 83.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,057, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $26,057 sits slightly below last year's $29,826.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper future resale gains if you plan to sell soon. If prices remain soft, sellers may need to be more competitive to attract attention.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand over time. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee safe?

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Jeep equips it with Active Driving Assist, which adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centering assistance. Intersection Collision Assist is also part of the package, and Jeep says the structure uses extensive aluminum and high-strength steel.

One caveat is that the system can disconnect on tighter curves, so you still need to stay engaged behind the wheel. The expert review also notes that the model’s crash-test performance remains an important consideration for shoppers.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 brings a meaningful upgrade in technology and sophistication while keeping the model’s capability focus.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,750, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,057 average.
• It offers the familiar older formula with stylish design, premium materials, and strong handling.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the redesigned model with stronger tech, broader powertrain choice, and a more modern feel. If your priority is saving money and you’re comfortable with the older generation’s formula, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path.
