What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Jeep Cherokee?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident history, title status, and service records before you go any further. Focus on signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership, and make sure the vehicle matches the equipment and condition promised in the listing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,225 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.65% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,659, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $22,659 sits slightly below last year's $25,081.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that a lower entry price today can mean a more competitive resale environment later if the market stays soft. Condition and history will matter a lot when it comes time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.65% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $18,817, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $22,659 average.
• It offers a broad mix of comfort, capability, and modern features.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the better value play and still gives you many of the Cherokee traits shoppers want.
