For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about finding a well-kept example with the features and condition you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Palisade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a close inspection of the cabin tech, touchscreen behavior, and overall condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment carefully so you do not overpay for features you may not use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE is well-equipped, while the Calligraphy is the near-luxury choice; the SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy add progressively more premium equipment, with the upper trims bringing larger displays and more upscale cabin features.
• Powertrain: The Palisade uses a 3.8-liter V6 with direct gasoline injection and an eight-speed automatic transmission, with front-wheel drive standard and all-wheel drive available.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-following assist, safe exit assist, and trailer sway control. Highway Driving Assist is optional on SEL and standard on Limited and Calligraphy.
• Infotainment: The system includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, HD Radio, satellite radio, and up to two connected devices. Screen size varies by trim, with an 8-inch display on SE and SEL and a 10.25-inch display on Limited and Calligraphy.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models can achieve up to 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined, while AWD models are rated at 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the Palisade’s core strengths without stretching the budget. It is well-equipped, and the expert review specifically calls it competitively priced and worth considering.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more convenience and tech flexibility, including optional upgrades that make the cabin feel more premium.
• Limited: Choose this if you want a more upscale experience, including the larger display, premium audio, surround-view camera, and more standard convenience features.
• Calligraphy: This is the pick if you want the most luxurious version of the Palisade, with the richest feature set and the strongest near-luxury presentation.

Safety features are strong across the lineup, and Highway Driving Assist becomes standard on Limited and Calligraphy.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,302 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,577, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $25,577 sits slightly below last year's $29,633.

That price movement suggests the Palisade has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now and planning to resell later. A lower entry price can also make it easier to hold value relative to what you pay today, especially if you choose a well-equipped trim and keep the vehicle in strong condition. Strong demand for family-friendly three-row SUVs can help support future resale, but condition and equipment will still matter a lot.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Palisade safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and earns five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both FWD and AWD models.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-following assist, safe exit assist, rear occupant alert, and trailer sway control. Forward-looking parking sensors, ultrasonic rear occupant alert, and Highway Driving Assist are optional on SEL and standard on Limited and Calligraphy. That means the lower trims are already well covered, but the upper trims add more convenience and driver-assistance depth.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines a polished design, strong safety, and a roomy third row.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $22,917, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $25,577 average.
• It adds more standard equipment and a new luxury-themed trim.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,873, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,577 average.
• It adds a facelift and more standard and optional tech and safety features.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want a well-equipped, stylish three-row SUV at a softer used price. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newest updates, the 2023 is worth the premium.
