Is the 2022 Hyundai Accent a good car?

With no expert test-drive data available for this model year, the best read comes from the market itself: the 2022 Hyundai Accent is showing a moderate buying environment, with pricing and listing quality that can work for shoppers who compare carefully.

The market also shows 32.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop selectively.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Accent?

At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint consistency, tire wear, alignment, and signs of uneven repair work. If a listing looks especially strong on price, make sure the condition supports it before you move quickly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Accent?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare condition closely.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 181 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,641, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Accent's resale value?

The current average of $14,452 sits slightly below last year's $14,978.

That tells you the market has eased, which can help you buy with a little more confidence if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, the softer pricing trend suggests resale value may be more sensitive to mileage, condition, and accident history than it would be in a stronger market. If you maintain the car well and keep documentation, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.52% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is a sensible choice if you want a newer used Accent and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth considering, but the 2022 gives you a reasonable mix of availability and deal potential.
