What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Accent?

At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any listing you’re seriously considering and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, paint match, tire wear, alignment, and signs of uneven repair work. Focus on overall condition first, because the best-priced car is only a good buy if its history and current state both check out.

That tells you the market has eased, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more if you want to protect value in a softer pricing environment.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.70% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better choice if you want a current-year option with a softer price trend and a decent number of deal opportunities. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
