Used 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback for Sale near Florida

How much does the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback cost?

Prices have softened 4.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,236 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and equipment.

Is the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from users, and the expert rating is 7.67/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The 2022 Civic Hatchback is positioned as a practical compact car with a fresh redesign, a more useful cargo area than the sedan, and a cabin that feels more upscale than many rivals. It also stands out because a manual transmission is available and advanced safety features come standard.

The trade-offs are clear: the base engine is underwhelming, the stereo is lacking, and the value proposition is weaker than you might expect for the class. Even so, the hatchback format and broad usability make it a strong fit if you want everyday versatility in a familiar Civic package.

35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Civic Hatchback is described as a well-rounded redesign with standard safety equipment and a practical hatchback layout, both of which support confidence in daily use. The expert evaluation also notes that the car’s engineering and driver-assistance systems are improved over prior Honda setups.

Its performance notes point to a CVT that works well with the turbocharged engine, stays relatively quiet, and is easy to live with. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that Honda includes complimentary scheduled maintenance on some competing models, which puts pressure on the Civic’s value equation rather than its durability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright reliability and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained well and equipped the way you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback?

At 74.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because accident history is common enough to matter here, it’s smart to focus on condition first and trim equipment second.

A pre-purchase inspection is especially useful if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a manual transmission, since you’ll want to confirm that the drivetrain and braking feel are consistent with the car’s age and use. If the listing includes advanced driver-assistance features, verify that they operate correctly during a test drive.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring are the trims explicitly named here. The lower trims are simpler, while the higher trims add more sophisticated digital instrumentation and infotainment displays, plus features that are missing from the base setup.
• Powertrain: The LX and Sport use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque, while the EX-L and Sport Touring use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque. The turbo engine’s peak torque arrives from 1,700 rpm to 4,500 rpm, which helps everyday responsiveness.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist, low-speed following capability, and Traffic Jam Assist. Blind-spot warning is limited to the EX-L and Sport Touring, and rear cross-traffic warning is limited to the Sport Touring.
• Infotainment: LX, Sport, and EX-L get a 7-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sport Touring upgrades to a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, navigation, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Sport Touring with the CVT should get 33 mpg combined, while the manual is rated at 31 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback trim should I buy?

The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the simplest way into the hatchback, with the 2.0-liter engine, the 7-inch touchscreen, and standard Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and can live without the extra convenience and audio upgrades.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment and gives you a choice of CVT or manual transmission. It still uses the 2.0-liter engine, so you’re buying the trim for flexibility and features rather than extra power.
• EX-L: This is the step up if you want the stronger turbocharged 1.5-liter engine and a more upscale feel without going all the way to the top trim. It also adds blind-spot warning, which is a meaningful safety upgrade.
• Sport Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone integration, navigation, the Bose audio system, and the most complete safety and convenience content. It’s the right pick if you want the most polished Civic Hatchback experience.

The safety-package gap to keep in mind is that blind-spot warning is not standard on the lower trims, and rear cross-traffic warning is reserved for the Sport Touring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,236 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,789, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $23,156 sits slightly below last year's $24,337.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless you choose a well-equipped, well-kept example. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is to buy a trim and condition level that broadens your eventual buyer pool.

Because the price trend has softened rather than surged, you should think of this as a value-stable used car rather than a model likely to appreciate quickly. Strong equipment, clean history, and desirable trim content will matter more than trying to time a rebound.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback safe?

The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist, low-speed following capability, and Traffic Jam Assist. Blind-spot warning is limited to the EX-L and Sport Touring, and rear cross-traffic warning is limited to the Sport Touring.

One caveat is that some of the most useful convenience-oriented safety features are not standard on the lower trims, so you’ll want to check equipment carefully if safety tech is a priority.

Should I buy a 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 redesign brings a fresh hatchback body style, standard advanced safety features, and a more practical cargo area than the sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Civic Hatchback with strong safety credentials and a practical layout, the 2022 is a sensible target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for a clean, well-equipped example and focus on the trims that give you the features you actually want, since the lower trims leave some desirable equipment on the table.
