Used 2022 Dodge Charger for Sale nearSan Diego, CA

How much does the 2022 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices are up 4.97% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 4,335 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Dodge Charger earns a 4.58/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, spacious interior, and enjoyable handling. The Charger also stands out for its easy-to-use technology, which helps it work as more than just a straight-line muscle sedan.

The trade-offs are familiar: the interior quality and comfort can feel behind the price, and the cabin does not feel especially modern. For you, that means the Charger makes the most sense if you want traditional gas-powered performance and everyday usability in one package.

Only 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards quick, selective shopping.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels powerful, enjoyable to drive, and easy to live with over time. The same feedback also suggests that many owners feel confident in the Charger’s overall durability and day-to-day dependability.

The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by describing the Charger as a car that delivers strong performance while still being usable every day. It also notes that the model’s value proposition remains compelling for buyers who want a traditional gas-powered sedan with serious capability.

If you buy used, your biggest long-term risk is not mechanical complexity so much as finding a well-kept example that has been maintained and not abused.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Because this model is often bought for performance, it also makes sense to focus on tire wear, brake condition, and evidence of hard use. If you can, compare several listings side by side so you can separate clean, well-kept cars from ones that have been driven hard.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes with a V6, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, cloth upholstery, a six-speaker stereo, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT adds a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, an Alpine premium stereo, navigation, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The R/T is the least expensive V8 model, while the R/T Scat Pack adds a larger V8, launch control, a high-performance suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo brakes, a heated steering wheel, and driver’s seat memory. The Hellcat adds supercharged power, upgraded brakes, and more luxury and safety equipment.
• Powertrain: The lineup starts with a 3.6-liter V6, moves to a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 in the R/T, then a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 in the Scat Pack, and finally supercharged 6.2-liter V8 versions in the Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the V6 models are also available with all-wheel drive. Efficiency is strongest with the V6 and weakest with the most powerful supercharged V8s.
• Safety package: Standard equipment is limited to a backup camera and rear parking sensors. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims add blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert as standard.
• Infotainment: The base setup uses a 7-inch Uconnect touchscreen, while an 8.4-inch screen is optional on the SXT and standard on the rest of the lineup. Both systems include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the larger screen is easier to use thanks to bigger icons.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 with rear-wheel drive returns 19 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive, it returns 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 16 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The 6.4-liter V8 returns 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 models return 12 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Dodge Charger is offered in 7 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core formula with the V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and a usable everyday setup. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but it is also the most basic version.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many buyers because it adds a sportier suspension, performance tires, a rear spoiler, navigation, an Alpine premium stereo, and the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen while staying with the V6. If you want the most balanced mix of price, features, and daily livability, this is the one to focus on.
• R/T: This is your first V8 choice, so it is the trim to target if engine character matters more than features. It keeps much of the GT’s equipment while giving you the 5.7-liter Hemi V8.
• R/T Scat Pack: This is the sweet spot if you want serious performance without jumping into supercharged territory. The larger 6.4-liter V8, launch control, high-performance suspension, limited-slip rear differential, and Brembo brakes make it the most compelling enthusiast pick.
• Hellcat: This is the choice if you want the Charger’s full supercharged personality, plus the added standard equipment that comes with it. It is the trim for buyers who care most about maximum acceleration and the most complete performance hardware.
• Redeye: This is for you if you want even more power than the Hellcat and are willing to pay for it. It adds a more powerful version of the supercharged V8 and improved cooling.
• Jailbreak: This is the most extreme version, with the hottest tune of the supercharged V8. It is the right pick only if you want the most powerful Charger available.

The safety package is limited on lower trims, so if driver-assistance features matter to you, pay close attention to how much standard equipment each version includes.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

The market still favors selective buyers, so you should act like a shopper in a seller’s market and be ready to move when you find the right car.

• Deal availability: 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,335 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.97% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 74.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,781, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $28,587 sits slightly above last year's $27,235.

That upward move suggests the Charger is holding buyer interest well, which can help support resale value if you decide to sell later. The fact that prices are still rising year over year also tells you that demand remains healthy for this model year.

If you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organized, you should be in a better position to protect value when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2022 Dodge Charger does not stand out for modern crash protection, and its standard safety equipment is limited.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance setup includes only a backup camera and rear parking sensors, and the backup camera image is described as grainy and pixelated. Available features include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

That means you should pay close attention to which safety options are fitted on any used example you consider, especially if you want more than the bare minimum.

Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.97% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It delivers old-school gas-powered performance with strong everyday usability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,366, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,587 average.
• It offers multiple powertrains and a roomy cabin with daily-driver practicality.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,620, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,587 average.
• It adds final-year appeal and a louder send-off personality.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, performance, and availability, the 2022 is the strongest all-around choice. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the final-year version and are willing to pay more for it.
