Used 2022 Dodge Charger for Sale nearNew Brunswick, NJ

How much does the 2022 Dodge Charger cost?

Prices are up 4.44% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 4,284 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger a good car?

Yes — 4.6/5 is a strong owner rating for the 2022 Dodge Charger, and the expert rating is 8.00/10. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, spacious interior, and enjoyable handling. The Charger also stands out for its easy-to-use technology and the way it delivers traditional gas-powered muscle in a package that still works as a daily driver.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior feels aging, fuel economy is poor, and the backup camera quality is weak. That means you’re getting a car with a strong personality and real usability, but not the most modern cabin experience.

With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the Charger as powerful, enjoyable to live with, and a car they can count on for everyday use. The owner feedback also points to a durable-feeling ownership experience, especially for buyers who value the Charger’s traditional performance character.

The expert evaluation reinforces that dependable feel by emphasizing how well the car blends strong performance with conventional controls and straightforward usability. It also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about age-related wear, especially if the car has been driven hard or neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because this model can attract enthusiastic ownership, condition matters a lot: look closely at the cabin, electronics, brakes, and tires, and make sure the car has been maintained consistently.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SXT comes standard with a V6 engine, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, cloth upholstery, a six-speaker stereo, and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GT adds a rear spoiler, sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, an Alpine premium stereo, navigation, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. The R/T is the most affordable V8 model, while the R/T Scat Pack adds a larger V8, launch control, a high-performance suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, Brembo performance brakes, a heated steering wheel, and driver’s seat memory. The Hellcat adds supercharged V8 power, an SRT-tuned Bilstein suspension, upgraded Brembo brakes, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, Laguna leather upholstery, and heated-and-ventilated front seats.
• Powertrain: The V6 makes 292 horsepower in base form, with 300 hp in SXT AWD and GT trims. The R/T uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 370 hp, the Scat Pack uses a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 485 hp, and the Hellcat uses a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 717 hp. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and the V6 trims are also available with all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: The Charger offers only a backup camera and rear parking sensors as standard equipment. Available driver-assistance features include forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen is optional on the base SXT and standard on the rest of the lineup. Both screens include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 19 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. The V6 with AWD returns 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined. The 5.7-liter V8 returns 16 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 19 mpg combined. The 6.4-liter V8 returns 15 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 18 mpg combined. The supercharged 6.2-liter V8 returns 12 mpg city, 21 mpg highway, and 15 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Dodge Charger trim should I buy?

The 2022 Dodge Charger is offered in 7 trim levels: SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, Hellcat, Redeye, and Jailbreak.

Here's the short version:

• SXT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Charger’s core formula with the V6, a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the basic convenience features. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but it is also the most stripped-down version.
• GT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a sportier suspension, performance tires, a rear spoiler, navigation, an Alpine stereo, and the larger 8.4-inch screen while staying with the V6. If you want the most balanced mix of price, equipment, and everyday livability, this is the one to focus on.
• R/T: This is your first V8 trim, so it’s the right choice if you want the traditional Charger V8 experience without jumping straight to the high-performance models. It keeps much of the GT’s equipment while adding the 5.7-liter V8.
• R/T Scat Pack: This trim is the sweet spot for buyers who want serious performance hardware, including the 6.4-liter V8, launch control, Brembo brakes, and a limited-slip rear differential. It’s the strongest choice if you want a true muscle-sedan feel without going all the way to Hellcat territory.
• Hellcat: This is the high-output supercharged model, and it adds major performance hardware along with upgraded safety and comfort features. It suits you if outright acceleration is the priority and you want the most dramatic version of the Charger.
• Redeye: This trim turns the performance dial up even further with more power and improved engine cooling. It is for buyers who want the most extreme factory Charger experience short of the Jailbreak.
• Jailbreak: This is the most powerful version mentioned, with the hottest tune of the supercharged V8. It is the choice if you want the most exclusive and most aggressive Charger in the lineup.

The safety content shows that the Charger’s standard equipment is limited, so if safety tech matters to you, prioritize a trim or option package that adds driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Dodge Charger?

Act selectively, because this is still a seller’s market for the Charger.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,284 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.44% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 72.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $26,805, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Dodge Charger's resale value?

The current average of $28,032 sits slightly above last year's $26,840.

That upward move suggests the Charger is holding demand better than a typical aging sedan, especially given its distinctive performance identity. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’re starting from a price point that has already shown resilience.

For a future seller, the key advantage is that the Charger still has a clear enthusiast audience. Well-kept examples with desirable trims and clean history should remain easier to move than more ordinary used sedans.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Dodge Charger safe?

The 2022 Dodge Charger earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Charger’s safety story is mixed because its standard equipment is limited for the class. You get a backup camera and rear parking sensors, but more advanced driver-assistance features are optional rather than standard.

Available safety tech includes forward-collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

The main caveat is that the car’s safety hardware feels dated compared with newer rivals, and the backup camera quality is especially weak.

Should I buy a 2022 Dodge Charger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.44% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out for its old-school muscle-car character and strong performance.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,238, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $28,032 average.
• It offers budget-friendly horsepower and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,176, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $28,032 average.
• It adds final-year appeal and a more send-off-like sense of occasion.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, performance, and availability, the 2022 is the strongest all-around pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want the newer, final-year version and are willing to pay more.
