Used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale near Connecticut

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 13.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,062 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, large cargo area, helpful safety features, and comfortable seating. They also point to the powerful engine and easy-to-use technology as major positives.

The trade-offs are familiar: some drivers wanted more advanced driving tech, and fuel economy could be better. That lines up with the Traverse’s role as a practical three-row SUV for families who want space and usability without moving up to a larger full-size SUV.

With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, with praise centered on the powertrain, spacious cabin, and useful safety features. The expert review also points to a strong, well-matched V6 and a drivetrain that feels easy to trust in normal driving.

The Traverse also benefits from standard safety and convenience equipment that should help reduce day-to-day ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by heavy family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because accident-free status does not tell you everything about maintenance or prior use. A thorough inspection should focus on cabin condition, suspension feel, and signs of hard family-duty wear. It also makes sense to confirm that the features you want are actually present, since equipment varies by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LS starts with front-wheel drive and the lineup adds more equipment as you move up, including blacked-out RS styling and the upscale Premier and High Country trims. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps before assuming a lower-priced example has the convenience items you want.
• Powertrain: The Traverse uses a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission. It is the only engine choice, and it is tuned for everyday family hauling rather than sporty driving.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can add a Safety Package with rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert; those features are standard on other trims.
• Infotainment: LS and LT Cloth models get a 7-inch touchscreen, while other versions get an 8-inch high-definition display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth for two smartphones and connected services; navigation and additional apps are available on the larger system.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model is rated at 20 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 20.9 mpg on the evaluation loop.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Traverse trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Traverse is offered in 7 trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, but you should only consider it if your priority is the lowest possible price and you are comfortable with a very basic starting point.
• LS: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it gives you the core Traverse experience without pushing the price too far up.
• LT Cloth: This is the value-minded upgrade if you want a little more comfort and flexibility without jumping into the pricier leather-focused trims.
• LT Leather: This is the better pick if you want more upscale cabin feel and are willing to pay for it.
• RS: This is the style-forward choice, with blacked-out trim and a more distinctive look; it also adds a Bose premium sound system.
• Premier: This is the best fit if you want a more premium feature set, including the 8-inch digital instrumentation panel and more advanced driver-assistance content.
• High Country: This is the top-end choice for shoppers who want the most upscale Traverse experience and are willing to pay for it.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while the optional Safety Package on the LS and the added driver-assistance features on higher trims are worth checking closely.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,062 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.12% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 80.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,410, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $24,410 sits slightly below last year's $28,095.

That drop suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy at today’s average or below, you may have less room for appreciation later unless the vehicle is especially clean and well equipped.

The Traverse’s broad family appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Well-kept examples with desirable features are likely to remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Traverse safe?

The Traverse gets top “Good” ratings in most IIHS collision-related tests, but it rates “Acceptable” in a newer, more stringent side-impact test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard on all trims and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and a following-distance indicator. The LS can add rear parking assist sensors, blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert through an optional Safety Package, while those features are standard on the other trims.

Higher trims add adaptive cruise control, higher-speed automatic emergency braking, and rear pedestrian alert, but the Traverse still does not offer a lane-centering system. That is the main limitation to keep in mind if you want a more advanced driver-assistance setup.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 80.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus standard Chevy Safety Assist across the lineup.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,083, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $24,410 average.
• It offers a spacious, practical three-row layout with a wide trim spread.

The bottom line: If you want the better-equipped and more current used Traverse, the 2022 is the stronger all-around pick. If your main goal is to spend less, the 2021 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core space-and-utility appeal that makes the Traverse attractive.
