Used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer for Sale nearGrand Rapids, MI

How much does the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer cost?

Prices have softened 9.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,537 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its comfortable and functional interior, stylish design, and smooth ride. The Trailblazer also gets credit for being practical and easy to live with, with especially strong appeal in the LT package. On the other hand, some owners mention ride-quality complaints and limited horsepower, so it fits you best if you value personality, comfort, and everyday usefulness more than strong acceleration.

That lines up with the overview: this is a subcompact crossover aimed at a broad range of shoppers, and its style, spaciousness, and easy-to-use technology are central to its appeal. The main trade-offs are cheap-feeling interior materials and poor value for money, so you should shop it with realistic expectations.

With 34.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market flexibility to find a decent purchase if you compare carefully.

Is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a comfortable, functional, and generally dependable-feeling small SUV that many people are happy to live with over time. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Trailblazer is easy to drive around town and useful in daily use, which supports the idea that it can be a trouble-free companion when maintained properly. Chevrolet also includes a single free maintenance visit to the dealership, which helps a little with early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not catastrophic reliability so much as whether you can accept the Trailblazer’s modest power and value-focused materials over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the cabin, suspension behavior, and overall condition, since this model’s value proposition depends heavily on whether it feels well kept. Pay close attention to trim content and equipment, because the Trailblazer’s appeal changes a lot depending on how it was optioned.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim looks good, but it is the least equipped version, and the Trailblazer’s cabin materials are described as cheap. Higher trims add more equipment and a more appealing overall feel, so you should compare feature content carefully before settling on the lowest-priced example.
• Powertrain: The Trailblazer uses turbocharged three-cylinder engines, and the standard 1.2-liter engine with 137 horsepower is the one to skip if you want the better driving experience. The larger 1.3-liter engine with 155 hp is the stronger choice, and AWD versions pair it with a more satisfying nine-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and automatic high-beam headlights. Blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available, so check whether a used example has the extras you want.
• Infotainment: The Trailblazer offers a 7-inch or 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, and Chevrolet Connected Services readiness. Wireless smartphone charging is available, and the larger screen adds Alexa Built-In plus access to Spotify and SiriusXM satellite radio.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle averaged 26.1 mpg in combined driving, and the official EPA rating was 28 mpg.

Which 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer trim should I buy?

The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it looks surprisingly good for a base trim, but it is the most stripped-down version. Choose it only if your priority is the lowest possible price and you are comfortable giving up equipment.
• LS: This is the next step up and a better starting point for shoppers who want a more balanced ownership experience without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• LT: This is the best-value trim. The expert evaluation specifically points you toward the Trailblazer LT, and it is the trim most likely to make sense if you want the right mix of style, usability, and budget.
• Activ: This trim adds off-road suspension tuning, sport-terrain tires, and a front skid plate, so it suits you if you want the most rugged-looking Trailblazer. Even so, the expert notes that off-road use still requires care.
• RS: This is the most style-forward version, with great-looking 18-inch wheels and a sportier personality. It can be appealing if you want the flashiest Trailblazer, but the expert says it costs too much once options pile on.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot warning with lane-change assistance, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, but the best examples still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,537 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,535, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer's resale value?

The current average of $18,535 sits slightly below last year's $20,462.

That softer pricing suggests the Trailblazer has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help if you buy at the right number. For a future seller, that means your biggest protection is paying close to market value now rather than overpaying for a heavily optioned example. The model’s broad appeal and practical strengths should help keep it relevant, but value-conscious shoppers will still compare it closely with rivals.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.4% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It adds a heated steering wheel and new paint choices.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $16,675, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $18,535 average.
• It launched the Trailblazer nameplate with the same basic trim structure.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,581, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $18,535 average.
• It adds fresh paint colors while keeping the same core formula.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and satisfaction, the 2022 is the smart default. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money, while the 2023 makes sense only if you want the newer-year premium and are comfortable paying more.
