Should I buy a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $46,678, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $49,387 average.
• It offers broad capability and everyday usability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2021 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in clean condition with the right equipment for your needs.
