How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,033 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Escalades to compare.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior, and they also call out the OLED screens and larger cargo area. In use-case terms, this is the kind of SUV that fits you if you want flagship presence, lots of cabin space, and a heavy emphasis on tech.

The trade-offs are the poor ride quality and the cheap-feeling interior materials, which keep it from feeling fully luxurious in every respect. Even so, the Escalade’s mix of size, tech, and configuration flexibility makes it appealing if those strengths matter more than polish.

Good and great deals account for 33.1% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the SUV’s smooth operation, advanced technology, and spacious cabin. The review summary also suggests a trouble-free impression overall, with no major negative themes surfacing in the provided feedback.

The diesel powertrain is described as smooth and capable, and the Escalade’s long warranty coverage adds another layer of confidence for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about outright durability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper vehicle-by-vehicle review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on ride quality, cabin condition, and how well the electronics and driver-assist features work. Given the Escalade’s size and complexity, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxury trim gets the core Escalade experience, but lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning are standard there, while blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert move up to Premium Luxury and higher. If you want the fullest feature set, the higher trims add more convenience and safety equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six. The gasoline engine makes 420 horsepower, while the diesel emphasizes smooth torque delivery and better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Super Cruise is available on most trims but not the base Luxury model.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of a 14.2-inch digital cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch auxiliary screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports a standard 360-degree camera view.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway, while the diesel returns 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway with RWD, or 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway with 4WD.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Escalade’s core size, tech, and presence. It’s the trim to consider if you want the lowest starting cost and can live without some of the extra driver-assist and luxury upgrades found higher up.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds important convenience and safety equipment, including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It also suits you if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping all the way to the top trims.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s big presence with a more aggressive look.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the better pick if you want a more fully loaded Escalade with the most upscale equipment and added safety content, including trailer blind-spot monitoring.
• Sport Platinum: This is the top-style choice if you want the most feature-rich version with the Sport appearance theme.

Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury model and is standard on higher trims only if equipped as described in the safety content.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,033 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $59,442, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $59,442 sits slightly below last year's $65,463.

That price movement suggests the Escalade has softened enough to create better buying conditions now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to drift downward. If you buy well today, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong equipment, clean history, and desirable trims should help support value better than a bare-bones example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade does not have published IIHS or NHTSA crash ratings for this model year.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher trims, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is available on most trims but not on the base Luxury model.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and Buckle to Drive for everyday convenience.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,465, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $59,442 average.
• It introduced the redesign and the major tech leap.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,152, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $59,442 average.
• It carries over the same core tech-rich formula with mostly unchanged strengths.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the refreshed Escalade experience with strong market availability and a softer used price than last year. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer listing, the 2023 is the next step up.
