How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 8.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,022 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and body styles.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior. The OLED screens and larger cargo area also come through as recurring positives.

The trade-offs are straightforward: poor ride quality and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, the Escalade’s flagship-size presence and wide range of configurations make it appealing if you want a large luxury SUV with strong tech and flexibility.

The market also looks supportive, with 39.9% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on the vehicle’s technology, build quality, and overall satisfaction. The expert review also notes that the diesel powertrain delivered smooth power and had no trouble moving the Escalade in everyday driving.

Cadillac’s four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty add some ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about expensive repairs if prior maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on ride quality, brake feel, and interior condition, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to confirm that the equipment you want is actually present, especially on higher-trim or option-heavy examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury trim is the entry point, while Premium Luxury adds more upscale equipment and Sport changes the exterior look with darker trim. Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum sit at the top of the range and add more content, so the base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more standard equipment.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the gasoline engine has the slight towing advantage.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is unavailable on the base Luxury model.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch auxiliary screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports a 360-degree camera view and a rearview camera mirror.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 16 mpg combined, while the Duramax diesel is rated at 23 mpg combined with RWD and 22 mpg combined with 4WD.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry trim, but it is also the one most likely to feel stripped down relative to the rest of the lineup. It makes sense if you want the Escalade’s size and tech at the lowest starting point, but the higher trims add meaningful convenience and safety content.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds more of the upscale equipment and unlocks standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the most balanced mix of features and price, this is the trim to focus on.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and want the Escalade’s presence with a more aggressive look. It is more about style than a major equipment leap.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the better pick if you want a more fully loaded Escalade, including trailer blind-spot monitoring and additional premium content. It suits buyers who want maximum convenience and towing-related confidence.
• Sport Platinum: This is the top-end style-and-content choice, combining the Sport appearance with the most upscale equipment. It is for shoppers who want the most complete version of the Escalade and are willing to pay for it.

Super Cruise is a $2,500 option on most trims, but it is unavailable on the base Luxury model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,022 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $60,177, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $60,177 sits slightly below last year's $65,959.

That decline suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better buying leverage today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than just model-year desirability.

The Escalade still has strong appeal because it combines flagship presence with advanced technology and a wide range of configurations. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher trim levels, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum trims and above. Super Cruise is available on most trims, but not on the base Luxury model.

Cadillac also uses the vibrating Safety Alert Seat to deliver many warnings. One caveat is that published IIHS and NHTSA crash ratings are not available for this model year, so you should lean more heavily on the standard safety equipment and trim-level feature differences when shopping.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning on the base trim.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,971, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $60,177 average.
• It introduced the redesign and brought a major leap in technology and presence.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,778, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $60,177 average.
• It carries forward the same tech-rich formula with more utility-focused appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and updated standard safety content, the 2022 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play. If you want to spend more for a newer listing without expecting a major change in character, the 2023 is the easy step up.
