How much does the 2022 Cadillac Escalade cost?

Prices have softened 9.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

With 2,026 listings available, you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare across trims and body styles.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and spacious interior, and they also call out the OLED screens and larger cargo area. The Escalade’s use-case appeal is strongest if you want a flagship-size luxury SUV with big-screen tech, multiple configurations, and a strong presence. The main trade-offs are poor ride quality and interior materials that can feel cheap. Even so, 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The user feedback points to a vehicle that feels smooth, advanced, and spacious, which supports the impression that owners are happy living with it over time. The diesel powertrain is described as smooth and capable, with strong low-end torque that helps it pull away cleanly from a stop. Cadillac also backs it with a four-year, 50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a six-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a large, complex luxury SUV can be expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance was neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on suspension behavior, brake feel, and interior wear, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most on a large luxury SUV. Pay close attention to how the technology works in real use, especially the camera system, infotainment controls, and driver-assist features.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Luxury trim is the most basic version, while Premium Luxury and Sport add more upscale exterior treatment; the Platinum trims add more equipment and standard puddle lamps. The base trim also misses blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Super Cruise.
• Powertrain: You can choose a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 or a Duramax 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six, both paired with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The diesel is the efficiency play, while the gasoline engine has the slight towing advantage.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above.
• Infotainment: The Escalade uses a 38-inch curved OLED display made up of a 14.2-inch digital cluster, a 16.9-inch touchscreen, and a 7.2-inch left-side screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the system can also be equipped with a 360-degree camera view, night vision, and augmented-reality navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline V8 is rated at 16 mpg combined, while the Duramax diesel is rated at 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 22 mpg combined with four-wheel drive.

Which 2022 Cadillac Escalade trim should I buy?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is offered in 5 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum, and Sport Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, but it already gives you the Escalade’s core appeal: big-screen tech, strong presence, and standard driver-assist features. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and Super Cruise.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more of the upscale equipment and unlocks blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It’s the trim to target if you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping all the way to Platinum pricing.
• Sport: Choose this if you prefer the darker exterior treatment and mesh grille. It’s mainly the style-focused alternative to Premium Luxury.
• Premium Luxury Platinum: This is the better pick if you want a more fully loaded Escalade with more standard luxury content and trailer blind-spot monitoring. It suits buyers who plan to keep the SUV long term and want more equipment from the start.
• Sport Platinum: This is the top-end style-and-content choice, combining the Sport look with the Platinum equipment set. It’s the one to buy if you want the most upscale, most distinctive version.

Safety-wise, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert start on Premium Luxury and higher, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Cadillac Escalade?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,026 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $59,625, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade's resale value?

The current average of $59,625 sits slightly below last year's $65,577.

That price movement suggests the Escalade has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you shop near the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting your own depreciation exposure. Strong demand for large luxury SUVs with standout tech can also help support used-market interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Cadillac Escalade safe?

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assist tech includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking front and rear, front and rear park assist, lane-keep assist, and lane-departure warning. Cadillac’s vibrating Safety Alert Seat also helps deliver warnings. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard on Premium Luxury and higher, while trailer blind-spot monitoring is standard on Premium Luxury Platinum and above. Super Cruise is available on most trims, but it is not offered on the base Luxury model.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac Escalade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds standard lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning on the base trim.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $54,604, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $59,625 average.
• It introduced the redesign and major tech upgrades.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,247, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $59,625 average.
• It carries over the same standout tech with more utility-focused appeal.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the sweet spot if you want the redesigned Escalade with strong tech, broad trim choice, and a softer used price than newer models. If your priority is saving money, the 2021 is the better value play; if you want the newest comparable version and can pay more, the 2023 is the cleaner upgrade path.
