Is the 2022 Cadillac CT5 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Cadillac CT5 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It’s positioned as a luxury sedan that aims to give you the driving appeal, space, and prestige of larger premium rivals at a lower price, while also offering a fastback-style design and a mix of technology and performance. For shoppers who want Cadillac styling, available performance, and a feature-rich luxury sedan, it fits that use case well. 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Cadillac CT5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 CT5 is described as having a solid reliability record overall, though early model years were more prone to problems and 2020–2021 models were subject to recalls related to transmission, braking, and airbag defects. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but you should still pay close attention to service history and prior repairs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Cadillac CT5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report to confirm the car’s accident and recall background, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the cabin, electronics, and drivetrain behavior, since the CT5’s interior quality and base-engine refinement are common pressure points. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate a well-kept example from one that may have been used hard.

What is the 2022 Cadillac CT5's resale value?

The current average of $33,516 sits slightly above last year's $33,367.

That small increase suggests the CT5 has held value fairly well in the near term, which is a positive sign if you plan to resell later. Stable pricing also implies the market has not been swinging sharply, so a clean, well-maintained example should remain relatively easy to position competitively. Strong demand for a distinctive luxury sedan with a good owner rating can help support future resale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Cadillac CT5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,503, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $33,516 average.
• It feels like Cadillac’s strongest version of this formula yet.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2022 if you want the better value and a broader set of reasonably priced listings. If you’re willing to spend more for the newer model year and its more polished overall feel, the 2023 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2022 remains the smarter buy.
