The review summary also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing it as comfortable, smooth, and high quality over time. Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV where repair costs can add up quickly. Because some buyers have noted confusing package combinations, it is worth checking equipment carefully before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 BMW X5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2022 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $35,654 sits slightly below last year's $41,642.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help, but you should still expect depreciation to remain a factor.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,221, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $35,654 average.
• It offers broad appeal with powerful engines, a refined interior, and strong everyday usefulness.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of satisfaction, inventory, and softened pricing, the 2022 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2021 is the smarter secondary path and still gives you many of the same core strengths.
