Used 2022 Audi A3 for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 383 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Audi A3 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The A3 stands out as Audi’s entry-level sedan with a premium compact footprint, a more upscale look and feel, and a new-generation design that emphasizes style and substance. The expert notes also point to stylish design, fun-to-drive manners, and impressive technology as key strengths.

One trade-off is that prices rise quickly with trims and options, and another is that the lineup’s more performance-focused S3 variant pushes the car further upmarket.

Good and great deals make up 37.9% of listings, which suggests you can still find value if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The A3 is described as a familiar, proven choice in the class, and its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that’s presented as a strong fit for both performance and efficiency. The expert notes also emphasize that the transmission shifts quickly and contributes to the car’s smooth, controlled character.

Audi’s cost-effectiveness notes also point to a premium compact sedan that can be equipped with useful standard features, which can help ownership feel more complete from the start.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher trim levels and options can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than you might expect from an entry-level luxury sedan.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a full ownership record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, electronics, and how the car drives under real-world conditions. It also helps to compare trim equipment closely, since the A3’s value changes quickly as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Premium trim gives you the essentials, while Premium Plus adds more convenience and driver-assistance equipment, and Prestige brings the most upscale tech and lighting. If you want the best value, the Premium Plus is the trim that most clearly balances equipment and price.
• Powertrain: The A3 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, while the S3 uses a more powerful version of the same engine. Front-wheel drive is standard on the A3, Quattro all-wheel drive is available on the A3, and Quattro is standard on the S3.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen for MMI, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Wireless charging is available, and the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel is standard on Prestige and available on Premium Plus.
• Fuel efficiency: The A3 is rated at 29 mpg city/38 mpg highway/32 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg city/36 mpg highway/31 mpg combined with Quattro. The S3 is rated at 23 mpg city/32 mpg highway/27 mpg combined.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it still gives you a strong equipment list with 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way power front seats with four-way lumbar, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and lane-departure warning. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra convenience and tech upgrades.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim because it adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver’s seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist. If you want the most balanced mix of comfort, tech, and driver assistance, this is the trim to target.
• Prestige: This is the most fully equipped version, adding matrix-design LED headlights, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a head-up display, and navigation. It suits you if you want the most premium experience and are willing to pay for it.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning, while additional driver-assistance features are available on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A3?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop, but the best listings still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 383 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 87.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,007, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $22,007 sits slightly below last year's $24,426.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit how much upside a future seller can expect in the near term. If prices stay near the current level, resale value should remain stable rather than strong. A well-kept example with desirable equipment should still be easier to move than a poorly equipped or heavily worn one.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 safe?

The 2022 Audi A3 earns Good ratings from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard Pre Sense Basic prepares the car for impact, while pre sense front uses camera and radar input to help warn you about potential hazards. High-beam assist and lane-departure warning are standard on every A3, and available features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, Park Assist, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.

One caveat is that NHTSA has not yet rated this model year.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings a new-generation design, premium compact styling, and strong technology in a four-door sedan package.

The bottom line: The 2022 A3 makes the most sense if you want the newer-generation car with strong tech, premium design, and a market that has softened enough to improve your buying position. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you should focus on the best-equipped lower or mid trims rather than stretching for the top end of the lineup.
