How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 386 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating and 8.83/10 expert rating point to a strong overall showing for this premium compact sedan. The 2022 A3 is described as a more polished entry-level Audi with a stylish design, added upscale features, and a fun-to-drive character, while still keeping the cabin and controls clean and modern.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The main trade-off is that prices rise quickly with trims and options, so the value equation depends on how much equipment you want. It also starts as a front-wheel-drive car, with Quattro AWD adding cost if you want extra traction.

38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The A3 is described as using a familiar, proven turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, and the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is presented as a strength because it shifts quickly and helps efficiency without giving up performance character.

The powertrain is also paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which supports smooth operation and efficiency. Audi’s own positioning of the car as a premium compact sedan with a polished interior and modern hardware also points to a vehicle built for everyday use rather than novelty.

If you buy used, the biggest long-term ownership risk is paying too much for a higher trim or option package without getting a cleaner, better-maintained example in return.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any car you’re considering, even if the listing looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has AWD or higher-end equipment, and focus on overall condition rather than just the odometer reading. Because this model can be optioned heavily, make sure the features you care about are actually present on the specific car you’re viewing.

Key things to evaluate:

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, but it already gives you a lot of the essentials, including wireless smartphone integration, a panoramic sunroof, and power front seats. It makes the most sense if you want the A3’s style and driving feel without stretching too far on price.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control, memory seating, wireless charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist. If you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• Prestige: This is the trim to choose if you want the most technology and the richest feature set, including the Virtual Cockpit, head-up display, navigation, matrix-design LED headlights, and the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio system. It suits you best if you want the most premium version of the A3 and are willing to pay for it.

The safety package is broad across the lineup, but some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims or optional equipment.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $21,904 sits slightly below last year's $24,205.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well you preserve the car’s condition and equipment. A clean history and desirable options should help your car stand out when it’s time to sell. Higher trims may cost more up front, but they can also appeal to a narrower pool of buyers if the market stays value-conscious.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 stands out as the start of a new generation with a more polished feel, added upscale features, and a broad spread of versions, including the higher-performance S3.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the right pick if you want the newest-feeling A3 in this range, especially if you value the updated design, strong tech, and premium cabin execution. If you’re more price-sensitive, a later search for a lower-priced example with the right equipment may make sense, but the 2022 remains the cleaner choice for shoppers who want the new-generation package.
