How much does the 2022 Audi A3 cost?

Prices have softened 10.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 399 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 a good car?

Generally — the 2022 Audi A3 earns a 4/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It is a premium compact four-door that enters a new generation of production, and Audi has added upscale features, both standard and available, to give it more of a premium presence. It also offers a broad spread of versions for a small luxury sedan, with three trim levels including the higher-performance S3 variant.

The main trade-offs are that prices rise quickly with trims and options, and the A3’s compact size can feel small around larger vehicles.

33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 Audi A3 is described as a familiar, proven choice for the class, and its turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that is designed for quick shifts and smoother operation. Audi also emphasizes that the transmission contributes to efficiency without giving up performance character.

The A3’s premium positioning and available technology suggest a well-developed ownership experience, and the cost-effectiveness notes point to a strong equipment mix at the entry level. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that higher trim levels and options can push ownership costs up quickly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Audi A3?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a full records review. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment closely so you know whether the car has the features you want or if you’d need to add them later.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Premium trim includes 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, and lane departure warning. Premium Plus adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver’s seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist, while Prestige adds matrix-design LED headlights, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a head-up display, and navigation.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine produces 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque and is assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic helps the car shift quickly and contributes to smoother, more efficient operation.
• Safety package: Standard Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning come on every A3. Available features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The A3 uses a 10.1-inch touchscreen for MMI, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Wireless charging is available, and the Virtual Cockpit 12.3-inch digital display is standard on Prestige and available on Premium Plus.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA-rated fuel economy is 29 mpg city/38 mpg highway/32 mpg combined for front-wheel drive and 28 mpg city/36 mpg highway/31 mpg combined for AWD.

Which 2022 Audi A3 trim should I buy?

The 2022 Audi A3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the value play if you want the A3’s core strengths without stretching the budget. You still get the panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power front seats, and lane departure warning, so it covers the essentials well.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds adaptive cruise control, memory for the driver’s seat, wireless device charging, advanced key, and Active Lane Assist. If you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• Prestige: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale equipment, including matrix-design LED headlights, the Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, the Virtual Cockpit digital instrument panel, a head-up display, and navigation. It makes the A3 feel the most fully loaded.

Standard safety features include Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, and lane-departure warning, while additional driver-assistance features are available on higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Audi A3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 399 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 85.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,516, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Audi A3's resale value?

The current average of $21,516 sits slightly below last year's $24,127.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. If you plan to sell later, the current softness may limit short-term upside, but it can also make the car easier to move if you price it competitively. A well-equipped A3 with strong condition and desirable features should still appeal to shoppers looking for a premium compact sedan.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Audi A3 safe?

The 2022 Audi A3 has not yet been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave it its top rating of "Good" in all crashworthiness tests and "Acceptable" in ease of use for LATCH connectors.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes Pre Sense Basic, pre sense front, high-beam assist, lane-departure warning, electronic child locks, rear side airbags, and LATCH anchors in the rear seats. Available driver-assistance features include side assist blind-spot monitoring, Pre Sense Rear, Parking System Plus, Park Assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering.

Should I buy a 2022 Audi A3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 85.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model brings a new-generation redesign, a premium compact sedan layout, and a broad trim spread that includes the higher-performance S3 variant.

The bottom line: If you want the newest-generation A3 with strong tech, a polished cabin, and a market that has softened enough to create buying opportunities, the 2022 is the primary path to consider. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping listings closely and focus on the lower end of the range where the best value is likely to show up.
