The model also stands out for its quality feel and overall comfort, while the main trade-offs are the non-touchscreen interface and the lack of some tech conveniences some shoppers may expect.

Acura also adds a maintenance-friendly note by including a wireless charging pad and a broad set of standard convenience features, though the core ownership experience still depends on how well the vehicle was maintained before you buy it. For used shoppers, the biggest long-term risk is buying one with neglected electronics or a rough prior life, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura RDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the vehicle has higher mileage or a complicated option package. Focus on cabin condition, electronics behavior, and signs of uneven wear, since those are the areas most likely to affect your ownership experience.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes the base model plus Technology, A-Spec, Advance, A-Spec Advance, and the limited-production PMC Edition. The base model is the most affordable entry point, while higher packages add more equipment and a more upscale feel.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the base, Technology, and A-Spec packages, while SH-AWD is standard on Advance and A-Spec Advance and available on some lower packages.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.
• Infotainment: The system uses a 10.2-inch display with Acura’s touchpad controller, plus Amazon Alexa Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad. Starting with the Technology package, you also get navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation notes an EPA fuel economy rating of 23 mpg and a tested average of 20.6 mpg.

Which 2022 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura RDX is offered in 5 trim levels: base model, Technology, A-Spec, Advance, and A-Spec Advance.

Here's the short version:

• base model: This is the entry point if you want the RDX’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get the turbocharged engine, the 10-speed automatic, AcuraWatch, wireless smartphone integration, and the 10.2-inch display, so it covers the essentials well.
• Technology: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds navigation and a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system. If you want a more complete luxury experience without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec: Choose this if you care more about style and a sportier presentation. It builds on the lower trims with a more distinctive look, though the underlying mechanical setup remains focused on everyday comfort and balance.
• Advance: This is the comfort-oriented upgrade, adding the adaptive-damping suspension and standard SH-AWD. It suits you best if you want the smoothest ride and the most upscale feel.
• A-Spec Advance: This is the most fully equipped version, combining the sportier appearance of A-Spec with the comfort and hardware upgrades of Advance. It makes sense if you want the most premium and most complete RDX package.

The Technology package and higher also bring front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,698 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 82.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,665, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura RDX's resale value?

The current average of $30,665 sits slightly below last year's $32,839.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against a future seller if prices continue to soften. On the other hand, the RDX’s strong value proposition and broad appeal help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should still have a respectable resale story later on. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

The 2022 Acura RDX earns a five-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal-impact and rollover resistance ratings and five-star side-impact ratings.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard and includes pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. With the Technology package and higher, you also get front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

One caveat is that Acura’s lane-keeping and lane-centering systems can be less polished than some rivals, and the IIHS had not yet published ratings for this model year in the provided data.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Acura freshens the RDX with new styling, a quieter cabin, additional equipment, and refined ride and handling.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $26,852, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $30,665 average.
• It emphasizes modern styling, strong handling, and excellent value.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $34,363, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $30,665 average.
• It offers strong performance, comfort, and a premium feel at a still-reasonable price.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed cabin, quieter ride, and strong value balance. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the smarter price-first alternative, while the 2023 makes sense if you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling premium SUV.
