How much does the 2022 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 9.53% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,648 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Acura MDX earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the MDX for its handling, interior quality, comfort, and overall blend of luxury and practicality. The user feedback also points to strong aesthetics and a satisfying driving feel, which lines up with the vehicle’s premium-family-SUV mission.

The main trade-offs are technology complaints and some feature omissions, along with pricing that can feel high relative to expectations. In the context of Acura’s all-new three-row crossover redesign, that means you’re getting a distinctive luxury SUV that emphasizes style and driving enjoyment, but you should still weigh the tech experience against your priorities.

Good and great deals account for 36.1% of listings, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable ownership experience, with repeated praise for the MDX’s comfort, practicality, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert evaluation also describes it as a complete luxury package that should deliver reliable, elegant, fun transportation for up to seven passengers.

The MDX’s solid structure and improved rigidity support a sense of durability, and the overall package is aimed at buyers who want a premium SUV they can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Acura MDX?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on every candidate, even when the accident-free share is strong. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on interior wear, electronics, and any signs that the vehicle has been used hard as a family hauler. Because the third row is cramped, also make sure the cabin layout and seating space fit your real-world needs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base MDX gets standard Jewel Eye LED headlights, 19-inch wheels, and a premium-feeling cabin, while Tech and above move to 20-inch wheels and add more upscale equipment. The base trim is the most stripped-down version, so if you want more luxury and convenience features, you’ll want to step up.
• Powertrain: You get one naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard on base MDX and Tech, while SH-AWD is optional there and standard on the higher trims.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist.
• Infotainment: Every MDX gets a 12.3-inch landscape-oriented infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Qi-compatible wireless charging, a WiFi hotspot, and OTA software and firmware updates. Navigation is standard on Tech and above.
• Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated in the available data.

Which 2022 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: MDX, Tech Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• MDX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core MDX experience with the V6, 10-speed automatic, AcuraWatch, and the standard 12.3-inch screen. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable with a simpler feature set.
• Tech Package: This is the best-value trim. It adds navigation and the upgraded ELS Studio audio system, and it can be paired with SH-AWD for the handling benefit the experts call out. If you want the sweet spot in the lineup, this is the one to target.
• A-Spec Package: This is the sportiest-looking version and comes with SH-AWD only. It suits you if appearance and a more aggressive vibe matter more than value.
• Advance Package: This is the luxury-focused choice, with the highest level of comfort and convenience equipment, plus SH-AWD standard. It fits you best if you want the most upscale MDX experience.

AcuraWatch is standard across the lineup, so you don’t need to move up for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,648 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $34,204, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $34,204 sits slightly below last year's $37,806.

That price movement suggests the MDX has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number today. If you purchase near the current average or below it, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell.

The market also appears reasonably active, which can support resale if your vehicle is clean, well-equipped, and properly maintained. Strong condition and desirable equipment should matter more than ever if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Acura MDX safe?

The 2022 Acura MDX hasn’t yet received released crash-test ratings from IIHS or NHTSA in the available data.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX models, and it includes collision mitigation braking system, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road departure mitigation, traffic sign recognition, driver attention monitor, expanded pedestrian detection capability, and traffic-jam assist. The vehicle also adds low-speed braking control with sonar-based object detection, automatic braking intervention, and collision mitigation throttle control.

The available safety content also notes a higher percentage of high-strength steel, an advanced safety structure, and pedestrian-focused front-end design changes. The main caveat is that the crash-test results themselves were not yet released in the data provided.

Should I buy a 2022 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 36.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the all-new redesign year, with a new platform, new styling, and a more assertive driving character.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $38,800, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $34,204 average.
• It adds a complimentary AcuraLink subscription and scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2022 is the stronger buy because it delivers the redesigned MDX experience at a lower average price and with more favorable market conditions. If you’re willing to pay more for added ownership perks, the 2023 is the better alternative for price-insensitive shoppers.
